215 babies buried at Kamloops Residential School as young as three years old. That's 430 parents left in mourning, that's 1720 grandparents, many will have passed on by now, without answers, without justice. More children still hidden across our lands, waiting to be found.
The bodies of 215 First Nation children were found.
I think of John Kioke, Michel Matinas and Michel Sutherland -who disappeared trying to escape St. Anne's IRS.
So many children died with no explanation or accountability.
This isn't ancient history.
It is lived trauma today.

Anti-black racism does not stop at the border.
I have heard from people who have said that we should not worry about what is happening in the US because that is not our problem.
As a Black man & a father of 3 young boys, I can tell you it is a lived reality for Black Canadians.
Violence is not a protest- it is what we ought to be protesting against -in all its forms and by all who use it (esp. those in powerful positions). I fully support the vast majority of people who are peacefully & unrelentingly seeking justice in the US & around the world.
