Banlist takes:
They’re not going to hit mitsu again. Yeah the sealed product is older and harder to come by but it and striker made entry level yugioh viable.
No wanted/Diabellstar hit because white crow stuff.
Sharvara to 3 for unchained support.
Savage back with an errata
They should hit magicians soul. It hits the DMOD engine without killing it outright.
Kewl Tune will get the maliss treatment. Chipped away by the banlist but still playable esp post maestro.
@hakunamydata Don’t know if it’s possible but it would be interesting to compare how casual players (mostly locals) feel compared to more competitive players (regionals and YCSs)
I also wanted to comment on this because I know a lot of people are mad about MAMO.
This is basically Konami’s version of MTG Collector Boosters.
MTG Collector Boosters come with all foils, better chances at certain rarities, and the big draw is the alternate art and insanely rare stuff like Surge Foils or serialized cards. But most of the time, if you open a single pack, you’re probably losing money compared to what you paid for it.
The Hobbit collector Booster packs had 15 cards and an MSRP of around $38.
Yu-Gi-Oh’s MAMO has… surprise, 15 cards and a $35 MSRP.
Coincidence?
So while I understand the visceral reaction a lot of people are having, I think a lot of Yu-Gi-Oh players just aren’t used to this kind of product. It’s nothing new in the larger TCG space.
This is 100% a product for collectors and people who like gambling on pulls. If that isn’t you, the good news is that most of the singles are pretty affordable.
@TrifGaming 2nd player draws 6 but also skips their draw. Doesn’t necessarily make going 2nd better but helps with time management so you don’t sit and have to watch a 10 minute cutscene only to top deck a charmy and scoop.
I’m fortunate enough that my wife makes my thumbnails but it took me maybe 20-30 minutes to slop together some crappy photoshop job before she took over. Took maybe 5 hours (not all at once) figuring out how but once you get it, it’s so easy to produce something workable
If you’re a content creator, especially in the TCG space, plz stop using generative AI in your content. The foundation of TCGs is built on artwork created by real artists. By relying on AI, you’re actively undermining and contradicting the very purpose you’re supposed to support.
