@mcuban@mcuban the more you talk, the more I lose respect for you! So, is the federal government supposed to ignore fixing trade disparities until it is convenient for everyone? Did the government guarantee that no business would have risks in the decisions they make?
๐จ The VAโs EHR modernization (EHRM) is at risk.
The new DOGE office wants to cancel critical work that ensures Veteransโ health records are interoperable, accessible, and accurate. This decision threatens patient care, safety, and the success of the new EHR.
@elonmusk@POTUS
7/ This isnโt just an IT issue. This is about patient care.
If VA cancels this work, Veterans will suffer. Providers will face delays, incomplete records, and medical errors. EHRM will fail before it even gets fully implemented.
6/ VA needs health IT standards experts to ensure:
โ Successful data migration from VistA
โ EHR interoperability with community care providers
โ Clinical decision support tools work in the new system
โ Future-proofing for AI, telehealth & remote monitoring
5/ Without dedicated health standards development, EHRM WILL fail.
๐ซ Data will be lost
๐ซ VA will struggle to connect with DoD & private providers
๐ซ Clinical decision support will degrade, impacting patient safety
4/ Veterans deserve seamless, high-quality care. This requires a fully interoperable health system where providers have access to complete and accurate patient recordsโnot fragmented data that puts lives at risk.
3/ VA must comply with:
๐ 21st Century Cures Act (Patient Data Access)
๐ The MISSION Act (Community Care Interoperability)
๐ ONC Interoperability & Patient Access Rule
๐ FHIR & USCDI+ standards
Canceling this work jeopardizes compliance & opens VA to legal risks.
2/ Canceling this work means:
โ Increased medical errors due to missing or incomplete records
โ Poor data migration from VistA to Cerner
โ Gaps in care between VA & community providers
โ Noncompliance with federal interoperability rules
1/ Interoperability isnโt automatic. The new Cerner EHR does not โjust workโ with VAโs legacy systems, DoD, or community providers. It requires rigorous standards development and data mapping to ensure patient records donโt get lost or misclassified.
@OccupyDemocrats โRemember Democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes exhausts and murders itself. There never was a Democracy, that did not commit suicide. It is in vain to Say that Democracy is less vain, less proud, less selfish, less ambitious or less avaricious than Aristocracy or Monarchy.โ
