The 2027 race has gone beyond secondary issues of zoning but some candidates are still struggling to catch up.
From ADC to AAC to PRP to SDP, most opposition parties are talking solutions, policy and competence - one party is trying to get back in the convo but their ethnic argument is too weak.
What a remarkable story about Atiku Abubakar! 🤝
I remember a time during a meeting when someone suggested that he should regularly visit mosques in Northern Nigeria and attend Friday prayers.
The argument was that this would help him attract public support by appealing to people's religious sentiments, particularly in the North, where religion plays an important role in people's lives.
But Atiku reportedly became upset and rejected the suggestion. He said he would rather leave politics than use the name of Allah or religion to deceive people into voting for him. According to him, exploiting religion for political gain was never his way of doing politics.
Interestingly, the person who made the suggestion was a Christian. He said he had never encountered anyone with such fear of God as Atiku. That encounter reportedly left a lasting impression on him, and he has respected Atiku even more ever since. 💚

I have advised you guys to start using halls for our campaigns. Because, this stadium thingy is really exposing our lack of grassroots presence.
See as the entire stadium take dey empty.
If you put this small crowd in a hall, everywhere will full just as Umahi did recently in Ebonyi.
Liverpool were choking Arsenal in midfield and using their home advantage to dominate the game. But Mikel Arteta recognised the problem, took off Bruno Guimarães and brought on Myles Lewis-Skelly.
Arsenal immediately gained more balance and control, reducing Liverpool's pressure and taking charge of the tempo. That substitution changed the game. A tactical masterclass from Arteta.

That Hincapie substitution was funny yesterday...Rio Ngouhma was already having his way around Calafiori... Arteta noticed and double up on him with Hincapie....he tried it again and saw both Hincapie and Calafiori charging at him.....the guy be like she e fe pa mi ni....😂😂
Lewis Skelly is reason why Arsenal got 3 points at Anfield!.
Look, if it wasn’t Lewis Skelly, Arsenal couldn’t have got the 3 maximum points at Anfield!. When Skelly replaced Bruno Guimares in the second half, he absolutely took the full responsibility to free both Odegaard and Declan Rice to do their job perfectly in middle of the park!.
Basically, Bruno Guimares failed to do his job properly in the midfield that’s why Arsenal was looking terrible when they lost the ball, he couldn’t win the possession back and he was more of attacking than controlling the game defensively!.
Therefore; Skelly executed everything when he came in, allowing the game to flow and he had some moments when he outmatched Mac Allister in the midfield. This goes back to what I said earlier before the game that “Skelly shines Rice but Bruno Guimares makes him dull the game!.”
Mikel Arteta's Arsenal have something that even Zidane's three-time Champions League-winning Real Madrid didn't have at this level.
Zidane's Real Madrid were an incredible team. They had world-class talent, experience, mentality and an unbelievable ability to win big games.
But there's an argument that Mikel Arteta's Arsenal are even more complete defensively.
This Arsenal side can defend deep, press aggressively, close spaces and make life extremely difficult for opponents.
And the scary part? They don't just defend. They can punish you brutally on the counterattack.
You might dominate possession, push players forward and think you've got Arsenal under control, only for one transition to expose you.
Zidane's Madrid had the magic of winning three consecutive Champions League titles.
But this Arsenal side's defensive organisation, physicality and ability to hurt opponents in transition make this comparison fascinating.
Could Arteta's Arsenal actually be a more complete team than Zidane's legendary Madrid?

🚨🇪🇸 Andoni Iraola on Liverpool’s 1-0 defeat to Arsenal at Anfield:
🗣️“Watching Arsenal from outside, you might think they’re easy to face, but you only realise how tough they are when you play them. At Anfield, in front of our fans, we didn’t register a single shot on target. That says everything.
I can’t remember the last time we failed to shoot on target at Anfield. Arsenal completely limited our attack. Their defensive organisation is incredible, they close spaces quickly, know when to press or drop, and defend as a unit. For me, they have the best defence in world football right now.
We wanted to win, create chances and pressure them, but they made everything difficult. Credit to Mikel Arteta; his work is clear. They’re well coached, every player knows his role, and they give nothing for free.
Massive credit to Arsenal. They played like champions at Anfield—confident, organised, showing why they won the Premier League last season. They’re probably a top-three team in world football and one of the toughest opponents.
We must accept the defeat, learn and improve. No excuses. Facing Arsenal shows the level required. They were excellent and fully deserved the three points.”
.@atiku vows to abolish five-band electricity tariff system, accuses Tinubu of broken promise
Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has accused President Bola Tinubu of failing to fulfil his campaign promise to provide Nigerians with steady electricity.
In a statement issued on Sunday by Phrank Shaibu, spokesperson of the ADC presidential campaign council, Atiku also pledged to abolish the existing five-band electricity system and replace it with a framework he described as fair, transparent and affordable.

After Arsenal lost the Europa League final in Baku against Chelsea, Josh Kroenke asked Per Mertesacker how the club can get a defender in the mould of Virgil Van Dijk.
Mertesacker answered him that you’d need to have £100m to stand a chance to get a defender of that quality. Arsenal couldn’t afford that at the time.
He asked Per about the best young CB who can grow into that mould in the future and without mincing words, Mertesacker said ‘William Saliba’.
Arsenal signed Saliba almost immediately. He joined from St. Etienne.
He was sent back on loan to St. Etienne. When he joined after his loan elapsed, he met a new manager in Arteta who didn’t think he was ready.
Arteta didn’t register him for the 2020/21 season. He moved to Nice on loan in January 2021. When he came back from that loan, he was still deemed not ready. Senior figures within the club tried to persuade Arteta as to his readiness but he refused.
Arsenal fans raised an alarm too. Does Arteta dislike Saliba?
He was sent on loan again. This time to Marseille and he was brilliant. He won the Ligue 1 Player of the Year. Despite impressing at such a big club, Arteta still looked to see for himself.
After a third loan, Saliba was more determined to show his readiness too. Arteta barely spoke to him when he joined for preseason. He said he wanted to see how much he’s grown naturally, without him interfering in his thoughts.
Saliba also said he wanted to prove a point. He’d prove his readiness on the pitch and Arteta would have no choice but speak to him.
After two training sessions from that preseason leading to the 22/23 season, Arteta had seen enough. He had a defensive monster on his hands, and he’d release him now.
And that’s how Benjamin ‘Benny Blanco’ White became a right full-back for Arsenal and Saliba, a multiple-time Team of the Year player, and one of the best defenders in the world.
I was travelling from Port harcourt to Onitsha but when I got to owerri, I was stopped by one FRSC staff who accused me of not using my seatbelt.
I begged him to please let me go that it won’t happen again but he refused.
He said he is going to seize my drivers licence and impound the car to their office.
But after much plea, he decided to collect #30,000 last from me and which was the only money on me that would have paid for my fuel and other expenses.
I gave him the money SADLY and went my way.
I was about entering Onitsha when a phone rang beside me, and i was surprised to see Samsung Galaxy S24 on my passenger seat.
I picked the call only to discover that the FRSC man that was inside my car forgot his phone in my car.
Now he's begging me to return the phone to him.
If you were to be in my shoes what will you do?
Be sincere because my head dey run riot here and both angels and demons are whispering things in my ear at the same time.

Paul Emerson:"It's either they kill the two to get shot on target against Arsenal. Arsenal rivals should find another solution on how deal with this backline because it's going to be a nightmare to score Arsenal.
Arsenal has one slogan you score first against them then they attack you with 12 men plus Mikel Arteta or they score first and they defend with 12 men plus Mikel Arteta.
l love this mentality, this define the champion, they do things on their own ways, against Nottingham forest Arsenal forward couldn't score but Gabriel and Konsa were there to score and immediately they dropped at the backline.
Don't hate Arsenal, gave them credit.
Sumner’s political analysis has sometimes been quite pedestrian in the past during his TVC days, but here’s some perspective:
You can’t depend on resources against a Govt that is willing to bankrupt Nigeria’s treasury to rig 2027.
SW is a key zone for AA, 4/5 states will deliver 25% comfortably, and the Affordability message will spread from there.
Those whispering in the shadows should emulate the North and start mobilising our voters organically, or wait for full campaigns to begin and join the trend.
