Mace Windu is the only Jedi in canon who could channel the dark side without falling to it.
The form is called Vaapad. Form VII. Matthew Stover wrote it into Lucas-approved canon through the 2003 novel Shatterpoint. It's the only lightsaber technique in the entire Jedi Order that operates by routing darkness through the wielder instead of resisting it.
Stover's mechanic: the user becomes one half of a superconducting loop. The other half is the dark side energy inside the opponent. You accept their fury, channel your own enjoyment of the fight, and reflect both back as power. The Jedi Code prohibits exactly that, drawing on enjoyment of combat, accepting opponent rage as fuel. Vaapad is the canonical exception, and Mace had to get Jedi Council approval to use it.
Two other Jedi tried. Sora Bulq co-created the form with Mace and fell to the dark side. Depa Billaba, his padawan and the only student he ever trained in Vaapad, lost her mind in the Clone Wars and turned. Mace is the only practitioner in canon who walked that line and stayed.
The purple lightsaber is the visual signature of that balance. Blue for the Jedi. Red for the Sith. Purple sits between them. The actual reason it exists is Samuel L. Jackson asked George Lucas for a purple saber during the prequel shoot so he could find himself in the Geonosis arena scene. Lucas resisted, then relented. Stover retrofitted the entire Vaapad lore around the visual, making Windu the only Jedi the canon allows to weaponize the dark side without losing himself.
The payoff is Revenge of the Sith. Mace walks into Palpatine's office and defeats the most powerful Sith Lord in galactic history with a saber. Yoda lost to Palpatine. Anakin tied. Mace won, because Vaapad was specifically designed to close the loop on a dark side opponent's own power. Palpatine had to fake injury and bait Anakin to escape the room alive.
One actor asked for a different colored prop. Lucas said yes. Stover wrote a fighting form into Star Wars canon to explain the color. Then the canon made that form the only thing in the galaxy that could beat the Emperor.
We got a box here from Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and it belongs to one half of the longest rivalry in college football!
It's the Lehigh Mountain Hawks! What a great school with rich tradition and history!
Thank you Coach Nagy and @LehighFootball keep pounding the rock!!
Jalen Hurts only got a ring because he was carried by a “super team”
Yet that team wasn’t better than the 2025 Seahawks
But also, Jalen would’ve never won a SB if he were on the 2025 Seahawks even though they were a better team than the 2024 Eagles that Jalen not only won a SB with but was the MVP of the game…
Some Seahawks fans logic

@DiBonaNFL Been saying it for a quite awhile. They need to unretire all of them. Give the guy wearing one of them a special patch, a legacy wing, something to honor it. That way we can have numbers again...especially with all the unofficial ones
