Back in 2014, there was a man who was already aware of the irregularities involving Manchester City. That man now runs FIFA. The infamous Gianni Infantino, then UEFA General Secretary, abused his authority, shared confidential documents and, in short, outmanoeuvred the Investigatory Chamber, doing everything in his power to ensure that both Manchester City and PSG would merely receive a fine, avoiding a deeper investigation that could have led to a Champions League ban. All of these details were also revealed through Football Leaks.
Given his actions as UEFA General Secretary and, more recently, as FIFA President, I can only say, in my humble opinion, that Gianni Infantino has become a cancer on football and should have no place in the future of the game.

Five Men Arrested for Wearing ‘Tinubu Must Go’ T-Shirts in Maiduguri

The Borno State Police Command has arrested and charged five men accused of printing and wearing T-shirts bearing the inscription “Tinubu Must Go” in Maiduguri.

The suspects were identified as Baba Aji Gremami, 44; Mustapha Abba Yemen, 28; Abbacha Mohammed Ali, 32; Adam Umar Gubio, 21; and Abdulhamid Mohammed, 21.

According to a First Information Report (FIR) dated September 29, 2026, and issued by the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Maiduguri, the men were accused of criminal conspiracy, inciting disturbance, disturbance of public peace and thuggery.

The police alleged that on September 25, the five men conspired to print T-shirts carrying the inscription “Tinubu Must Go” with the intention of causing a breach of public peace around the West End Roundabout community in Maiduguri.

The alleged offences were said to contravene Sections 60, 78, 79 and 392 of the Borno State Penal Code. The officer in charge subsequently directed that the suspects be charged before the Chief Magistrate Court in Maiduguri.

A source also alleged that the arrests followed a directive from Borno State Governor Babagana Umara Zulum to the state Commissioner of Police, CP Naziru Abdulmajid, over the T-shirts.

The suspects were reportedly taken to court and remanded in a correctional facility.

The arrests come amid heightened political activities ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 general elections.

The specific court proceedings and terms of the remand order had not been established as of the time of the report.
