🚉MODERN RAIL
At Malaba, Uganda’s Malaba–Kampala Standard Gauge Railway [272 Km], now under implementation, will seamlessly connect to the Kisumu—Malaba rail link flagged off today.
Once complete, cargo will move directly from Mombasa to Kampala by rail, redefining freight movement by easing pressure on highways and improving transit efficiency.
👏🏿 We congratulate the Heads of State on this milestone in advancing regional connectivity and integration!

“Sectrine, people always ask me how do you grade coffee?
What’s the use of those machines?
And does it really bring more money?”
Let me explain it clearly because grading is one of the biggest secrets to adding value to our coffee
Let me start with the steps involved in grading of coffee
Step 1: Screening ;
The beans pass through screens of different sizes (Screen 18, Screen 15, Screen 12 etc.). Big, uniform beans are separated from the smaller or broken ones. Buyers want uniformity not a mixture of big and tiny beans together.
Step 2: Gravity Table;
After screening, beans go on the gravity table. The lighter / broken / weak beans are removed; heavier, healthy beans remain. Remember, quality beans are always heavier.
Step 3: Color Sorting
Then we remove defective beans black ones, discolored, or insect-damaged leaving only the clean, green ones.
After these steps you have graded coffee and that is what attracts international buyers and fetches higher prices.
For example let’s use todays coffee prices per kg
•Robusta Screen 18: =UGX 17,400
•Robusta Screen 15: =UGX 16,830
•Robusta Screen 12: =UGX 16,400
. FAQ (kase). = 13500
When a farmer sells FAQ to a buyer , the buyer will add value to it by investing about 400shs for grading and color sorting and make a profit of 2000 offer each kgs . Now multiple the number of kgs FOT from each farmer and you will see how much money you lose when u dont add value to your coffee
To my fellow youths look at those numbers. Just by sorting beans properly (screen → gravity → colour), farmers can increase what they earn per kilo. That extra might seem small in one kilo, but with bags or tonnes, it becomes life changing.
Lastly the youths that have always asked me where they can jump in into the value change here is the opportunity. Buy kase from farmers , grade it and sell it at a higher price as sample as that and those that need my support am always available
Uganda has excellent coffee let’s grade it well, so it pays well. Quality is key.
For God and my country Uganda 🇺🇬

I’m told that such, and other unclaimed mobile money, is eventually sent to @BOU_Official (who have chosen to ignore all these complaints). If it’s true, then @BOU_Official surely makes billions from the gaps in the mobile money system! Would they then be interested in fixing the sector!
Comrades and victims,
what do you think of this ‘response’ from the Governor of @BOU_Official in view of the issues raised by the #StopAirtelTheft campaign? What more should @BOU_Official be seen to be doing?
