Regional rail should also be a viable alternative for inner ring communities. It shouldn't take 20+ mins to ride less than 10 miles. Add in the train leaving late plus additional metro commute time to Union Station the VRE falls to last place as a transp. altern.

As a first time rider of the @VaRailExpress yesterday afternoon I was completely underwhelmed with the service. It was frustratingly slloooooww. From DC to ALX we averaged 10 mph, with no service impact advisories. Please tell me this isn't normal?

My dreams of build your own subs for lunch were shattered today. The new Alexandria Carlyle @Wegmans inexplicably doesn't have a sub counter. Subs > Burger Bar. I can get a burger anywhere! I really needed a Danny's Favorite or hot chicken tender sub.
