@nathie The issue isn’t really how much it will be at launch, it’s how much the next meta headset will release at with much of the same features and maybe even more. At any price it almost feels like valve waited too long for what the frame seems to be unless meta really drops the ball.

@The_Mr_Velvet @benz145 Yes but the quest 3 is a several year old device already. And if it’s only slightly better that’s fine but it all comes down to the price. If it’s around the same price of a quest it’s a good deal ( for now ) if it’s around the price of an index its not competitive

@Himblerk @benz145 It really all comes down to price. If it’s quest 3 price it will be great for gamers, if it’s $700 or more it really dosnt matter how modular it is the core lcd 2160 screens arnt worth it for the main experience

@martydudeVR Don’t know how to edit my original but the HP reverb was the wmr with 2160 and the odyssey had the oled. Still not super impressed with valves

@martydudeVR If it was a super bright oled at 2160p it would be a snag, if it was a decent lcd at 2560p it would be a snag. A lcd at 2160 is not it in 2026. The Samsung odyssey from 2017 would have better visuals. That was a 2160 oled panel almost 10 years ago.

@carygolomb This is going to be a much better e sports machine than a console replacement. Great for 1080p high refresh monitor probably bad for the 4k TVs that are in everyone’s home at this point. Not enough Vram.

@Zawigiusz @PHIA_bunny Your right I was getting two windows Mr headsets combined in my head the HP reverb was the one with 2160 back in 2019 . So my point that the frame may look worse is incorrect….however it may just look the same barring sweet spot after 6 years so still not excited.

@unyldingfocus @benz145 Without social features ,the high resolution for working or MR I dont know how many new people this will attract. Being able to stream steam games to it is great but without pass through your stuck inside the headset not like having a floating big screen which feels more natural

@martydudeVR Same resolution, same frame rate, same lenses, same screens. I’ll just plug my quest into my pc if I want a pc game. I’ll pay $100 more for the frame than a quest 3 but really I’ll just wait for quest 4

@RtoVR I would pay $100 more than a quest 3 if they released at the same time. But realistically the quest 4 has to be only a year or so away and will deff beat this from a visual and hardware perspective so I’m going to wait for that.

@dtupper Depends how much the lcd one is.
I havnt seen pricing but from the specs I saw I wouldn’t pay much more than a quest 3. If they release a oled with a sufficiently bright panel and a higher resolution with social eye tracking & face tracking then it would be a worth $1000 device
