@danmansometimes I think that Ward has high enough value that the Angels could get such a good return that it outweighs the downside of not having him in 2026.

It’s about thinking longer than one year in advance. Getting 6 years of a solid regular (or two) for one and a half years of Ward.

Just throwing stuff out there: the Phillies seem like a really good match in a Taylor Ward trade.

I wonder if Otto Kemp is someone the Angels would have interest in as part of the return. 99 wRC+ in his rookie year this season, can play 1B/3B/LF, and is blocked in Philly.

@danmansometimes I didn’t say Kepler would be good. He’s purely space filler, little value, and a step up from Campero/Wade Jr. for a team that wants to remain in the mix even if they sell.

Suggesting top prospects is lazy for a team that is prioritizing MLB proximity in their acquisitions.
