The true beauty of this photo is what these cones will bring to families and our earth in the future. Inside the cones are seeds that will sow to grow up to be your future Christmas Tree and keep large tracts of spaces green across North America. #CanaanFir#ConeHarvest
A utility industry schism -- FirstEnergy breaks with its peers and tells FERC that data centers should pay for transmission upgrades they impose and be billed the standard transmission rate paid by everyone.
@GovernorShapiro So what about the developers in Virginia whose power demands could impact Greene and Fayette Counties through projects like MARL?
We deserve the same accountability when our landscapes and ratepayers are potentially being impacted to serve data center growth outside our state.
This is not just about property owners facing devaluation and uncertainty. It is about the future of our rural communities, farms, and landscapes and the precedent being set for projects like this to move forward while ratepayers are left paying the bill.
We should be asking whether it makes more sense to build massive transmission corridors through rural communities or place reliable generation closer to where the demand actually exists — in Virginia, not West Virginia.
Public hearings are up ahead for a 107.5-mile, 500-kilovolt transmission line with a preferred route going through several West Virginia counties.

The threat of a court-ordered takeover of the Justice family's Greenbrier-linked businesses persists after the firm seeking that takeover showed evidence of plummeting property valuation and balked at a financing deal proposed by the debt-riddled Justices: https://t.co/UlsBjnDq2S
“Just as important, facts matter because they reveal where the real problem lies. This was not a failure of @WestVirginiaU . It was a failure of planning. Graduation is not a surprise event. Neither is the possibility of rain in late May.”
“Parents, students and taxpayers have every right to expect that contingency plans will be in place for one of the most important milestones in a young person's life.”

If Pennsylvania is setting a higher bar, shouldn’t that same standard apply to projects that use Pennsylvania as the corridor and burden for out-of-state development?
What about data center development in neighboring states that still impacts Pennsylvania residents? Proposed transmission lines carrying power to support those projects are crossing through PA communities. (Greene & Fayette Counties) @GovernorShapiro#STOPMARLTransmissionLine
Here in Pennsylvania, we’re setting a higher bar for data center development.
If companies want state support, they must commit to transparent, responsible development — and to protect and benefit the community they’re in.
Dominion Energy, Transource and FirstEnergy are proposing the Valley Link 765 kilovolt transmission system in Virginia.
The Joshua Falls to Yeat segment would span nine counties in rural Virginia's Piedmont region. Many are opposed to the project.

@DannoWhipkey People are saying that WVU wasn’t even asked.
Their priorities (MON BOE) on how they’re spending taxpayer money are completely out of whack. Students and families deserved better planning and leadership than this.
So @WestVirginiaU was possibly never even asked??? Why not???
Weather forecast was pretty clear days ahead of time on both the temperatures and rain chances. This wasn’t some sudden surprise storm.
So who exactly is responsible for the poor planning of Mon County graduations?
If it’s true that WVU Coliseum priced so high they became unrealistic for public school students, do they deserve criticism? Is that really their fault?
@WestVirginiaU@michaeltbenson
If Mon County BOE failed to plan properly or prioritize the student experience, that falls on leadership.
Students and families should not have been left sitting in the cold rain while adults point fingers afterward.
