Under Buhari, Nyesom Wike and Reno Omokri were your heroes. You celebrated them and there was nothing bad anyone could say about them to you.

Under Tinubu, same people have become your worst villains and there's nothing good anyone can say about them to you.

When killings happen in another region, you are loud in protest and vocal activism. When it happens in your own region, you go mute or explain it away when the culprits are your kith and kin.

A president derogatorilly labels a group of people as 'dot in a circle' and you call him out, justifiably though. Another president labels entire country "shit hole" or "disgraced" or any other derogatory words and you celebrate him.

A politician tells lies and you call him out or affirms criticism against him. Your favorite religious figure does same and you find a thousand and one reason why he must not be called out let alone criticised.

Whoever you like can never ever be wrong on anything. Whoever you don't like or hate can never ever be right on anything.

Whether this is some sort of charisma or ingenuity, I can't tell. I'm just wondering how una dey take do am🤷‍♂️

As a Jew, Mr. President, I reserve the right to oppose Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib (neither of whom called upon the help of a former KGB operative to help them in their election to office), while simultaneously condemning your divisive, racist rants and policies.
As a Jew who has proud Republican family members who I love and cherish, I am ashamed of what you have done to the Republican party; to conservative ideals – even if I do not share all of those ideals.
As a Jew whose Christian uncle fought heroically at the Battle of the Bulge for our country and for the salvation of Europe – I am ashamed by the mockery you visit upon his sacrifice.
As the son of a Christian pilot, later converted to Judaism, who led American pilots to glorious victory over Nazi Germany, I am outraged by your embrace of neo-Nazi’s and racists in America (that same pilot, who became a squadron commander in the Israeli Air Force, and fought for Israel’s independence).
As a Jew, I am disgraced by your fawning adoration of the worst dictators of our century – you violate Christian and Jewish values by doing so.
As a Jew; as a well-informed Jew who loves and cares deeply for Israel and for America, I condemn you and call you out for the divisive fool, the ogre, the ghoul that you are.
May my soul not enter your council, let me not join your assembly.

In 2023, Nigeria was so encumbered that it could not even pay foreign companies for what they had already earned in Nigeria.
The CBN was left with just $3.99bn net reserve ($3.7bn according to JP Morgan) and couldn't further spend from the reserve.
Gross was $33bn on paper but after subtracting swaps, forwards, and securities lending, the vault was empty.
The Central Bank had no buffer. CBN could not defend the naira. It could not supply dollars.

There was a forex backlog of $7bn unpaid to international companies.
Manufacturing, aviation, petroleum $7 billion in matured forward contracts CBN refused to honour. Companies brought Naira, CBN promised dollars and defaulted.
There was loss of confidence in the CBN.
$2.4bn of that $7bn was later found to be invalid after proper audit by Deloitte. That tells you the level of abuse.

IATA placed us on the top of the world list of countries with blocked funds that some airlines had to stop operating.
In June 2023, blocked airline funds peaked at $850 million. Nigeria topped IATA’s global list. IATA said airlines were facing difficulties in repatriating revenues. Emirates stopped flying to Nigeria.
Ticket prices went through the roof because airlines could not take their money out.

NNPCL could not remit a single dollar.
NNPC failed to remit to FAAC for seven straight months with oil at over $100/barrel, Nigeria earned crude but got $0 in dollars to the Federation Account.

No dollars from NNPC =No dollars at CBN = No dollars for anyone.

Here we are today, all valid forex backlog cleared
IATA confirmed in April 2024 that 98% of blocked airline funds had been cleared.

From a country that could not pay $7bn it owed, to a country with $53bn in external reserves.

You don’t have to like the administration but this is progress.
