@onorma_ If someone knowingly makes a false rape accusation, they should face legal consequences, regardless of gender. If equality means equal rights and accountability, why should knowingly destroying someone’s livelihood or career through a false allegation be treated differently?
@the17th_letter6 You can’t expect others to follow religious rules simply because they make you uncomfortable. In a secular society, people should be free to live by their own beliefs without imposing them on others. This is aimed at those demanding such restrictions, not Muslims generally.
@theonlyiroyal Posting short videos like this while expecting “princess treatment” when you’re perfectly capable of standing—and aren’t disabled or pregnant—seems unfair. Shouldn’t courtesy work both ways? They arrived first, so they got the seat.
@moiiikaaa You do realise that using any online service means your data is subject to that service’s privacy policy and the laws of the jurisdiction it operates under—not just when it’s a Chinese AI model, right?
Spending half a year’s salary on a phone whose main purpose is calls, internet and the occasional photo honestly makes me sick to my stomach. The marketing has become more valuable than the product itself.
Glorifying purchases like this gives brands the power to charge exorbitant prices for products that may cost only a fraction of the selling price to manufacture. We end up celebrating the price tag instead of questioning the markup.
Finally purchased the iphone 18 Pro Max after standing in the queue for the last 18 hours 😩
Hard work finally paid off , really a proud moment for me and my family ♥️
I am the first Indian X user to buy iphone 18 pro Max. 😭
 UPI Remains Free for Consumers
UPI continues to be free for customers. Sending money to friends, paying at shops, or scanning a QR code — all remain without charges.
Key Facts:
✅ No charges on P2P: Person-to-Person transfers are always free, regardless of amount.
✅ Small merchants protected: Vendors earning up to ₹1 lakh per month via UPI QR codes continue to enjoy zero charges.
✅ Everyday payments safe: Over 95% of merchant payments are below ₹2,000 — these remain free.
✅ Nominal MDR above ₹2,000: Only larger merchant transactions above ₹2,000 attract a small fee (0.4%) to be borne by merchants, far lower than credit card charges or other network charges.
✅ Essential services capped: Railways, fuel, telecom, bill payments, insurance, etc have a flat fee of ₹5 per transaction above ₹2,000.
✅ Special low rates: Mutual fund and securities payments attract just 0.02%, capped at ₹300.
Safeguards for Consumers
✅Banks instructed: Merchants cannot pass MDR costs to customers.
✅No hidden fees: UPI apps cannot levy platform charges.
Debunking the “External Pressure” Myth:
✅ Some claims suggest the change is due to foreign influence. This is false. India’s UPI policy decisions are made independently, with the clear goal of building a self-sustaining, inclusive, and affordable digital payments ecosystem.
Why This Matters:
Since its launch in 2016, UPI has grown into the world’s largest real-time interoperable payment system — entirely on India’s own terms. UPI processed 24.5 billion transactions in August 2026 alone. To keep this system self-sustainable, secure and innovative, a small fee on high-value merchant transactions helps fund:
☑️Better infrastructure and cybersecurity
☑️Support for small merchants in Tier III–VI towns and rural areas
☑️Awareness and incentives to expand UPI adoption
The new framework ensures resources from higher-value merchant transactions are reinvested to support small businesses and strengthen digital payments across the country.

@ShereenBhan@CNBCTV18Live@CNBCTV18News How would they? They honestly won’t care as long as they keep collecting their charges. Merchants will ultimately find a way to pass those costs on to us—the ordinary middle class, just like they’ve done with credit/debit card payments on POS machines.
@nitin_gadkari ji, this is a daily issue at several major toll plazas, with significant queues and delays despite FASTag. Since NHAI already monitors toll-plaza congestion, could this recurring issue receive greater attention and corrective action?
Yesterday, we were stuck in a toll queue at Meerut’s Siwaya Toll Plaza for just 15 minutes,
but my friend got so frustrated that he questioned the toll operator directly.
He said
"Man, the queue is this long, should not the toll be made free ? At least the traffic would keep moving."
Then he asked the toll employee
"When the queue gets this long and traffic starts piling up,
why is not the toll made free to clear the congestion ?"
The employee’s response left my friend even more surprised
"It does not become toll free just like that, think about how much loss the owner would have to bear."
Then he casually added
"Just stand in the queue. Your turn will come."
We ended up waiting there for around 15 minutes.
But those 15 minutes did not just cost us time.
The car was not moving, but the fuel was still being burned.
So basically, we were standing in line to pay the toll,
while simultaneously spending money on fuel and losing valuable time.
That’s when my friend made a simple point
"If collecting the toll is necessary, does the time and fuel wasted by people stuck in the toll queue not matter ?"
And this is not just about our 15 minutes.
If thousands of vehicles spend 10-20 minutes every day waiting at toll plazas, think about the bigger impact.
hours of lost time, extra fuel consumption and unnecessary pollution.
Charging a toll is not necessarily wrong.
But efficient traffic management should be just as important as toll collection.
Because here’s the real question
There’s a calculation for the toll company’s revenue
but who accounts for the time and fuel the public loses waiting in a toll queue ?
@george_loo73202@GlobeEyeNews Yeah, we have to send people to relieve the pressure on your countries because you’re not skilled enough to fill those roles yourselves. Funny how that works.

@JioCare@JioCare@reliancejio I have repeatedly asked for a confirmed appointment but still have no concrete commitment. I also could not find Nodal Officer details on Jio’s website. I will therefore escalate this directly through the consumer forum for appropriate resolution.

Paid for the connection, but installation is still pending. Your engineer keeps delaying it and now isn’t answering my calls.
This is unacceptable. Complete the installation within 24 hours, or provide a clear resolution and full refund.
@reliancejio@JioCare
@JioCare@JioCare@reliancejio Still no proper response after repeated requests for a confirmed installation date & time. Does this appear to be a customer-service failure? I’ll now escalate to your Nodal Officer, then to @jagograhakjago.
@JioCare@reliancejio Does your continued failure to respond to a paid installation request appear to constitute a failure of customer service? I’m still awaiting a confirmed installation date and time.
@JioCare@reliancejio@JioCare Stop saying “shortly.” Jio’s FAQ says installation is generally 24–48 hours after registration. I need a confirmed date & time. Your engineer keeps delaying and now won’t answer. Confirm within 24 hours or tell me how to escalate.
