ਅਮ੍ਰਿਤਪਾਲ ਤਾਂ ਬਹਾਨਾ ਹੈ, ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨਾ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਹੈ। ਜਿਹੜੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਹੀ ਅੱਜ ਇਸ ਜ਼ੁਲਮ 'ਤੇ ਹੱਸ ਰਹੇ ਨੇ, ਜਾਂ ਚੁੱਪ ਨੇ, ਇਹ ਨਾ ਭੂੱਲਣ ਕਿ ਜਦ ਜੰਗਲ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਗ ਲੱਗਦੀ ਤਾਂ ਸੇਕ ਚੂਹੇ ਦੀ ਖੁੱਡ ਤੱਕ ਵੀ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਜਾਂਦਾ। ਬਚਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਨੀ।

ਮਾਰਟਿਨ ਲੂਥਰ ਕਿੰਗ ਜੂਨੀਅਰ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਸੀ, "ਅਖੀਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣ ਦੀਆਂ ਕਹੀਆਂ ਚੇਤੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿੰਦੀਆਂ, ਆਪਣਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਚੁੱਪ ਯਾਦ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ।"

ਦੂਜੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਕੁਝ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਵੀ ਹਨ, ਜਿਹੜੇ ਕਹਿ ਰਹੇ ਨੇ ਕਿ ਫਲਾਣਾ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਸਾਡੇ ਉਲਟ ਬੋਲਦਾ ਸੀ, ਹੁਣ ਸਾਡੇ ਹੱਕ 'ਚ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਲਿਖ/ਬੋਲ ਰਿਹਾ?
ਨਿਮਰਤਾ ਸਹਿਤ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਆਮ ਸਮੇਂ ਸਾਡੇ ਆਪਸ 'ਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਵਖਰੇਵੇਂ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ, ਵੱਖੋ-ਵੱਖਰੀ ਵਿਚਾਰਧਾਰਾ ਰੱਖਣ ਕਾਰਨ ਸ਼ਖਸੀਅਤਾਂ 'ਚ ਟਕਰਾਅ ਵੀ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਪਰ ਜਦ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਆਵੇ ਤੇ ਵੱਡੀ ਲੀਕ ਖਿੱਚ ਦੇਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਅਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰਨੀਆਂ ਸਿਆਣਪ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਹੀ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ।

ਇਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨੇ 'ਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਹੈ, ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਅਕਸ ਹੈ, ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੀ ਜਵਾਨੀ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਹੌਲ ਹੈ, ਹਿੰਦੂ-ਸਿੱਖ ਸਬੰਧ ਹਨ, ਉਸ ਬਿਰਤਾਂਤ ਨਾਲ ਲੜੀਏ, ਨਾ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਬਿਰਤਾਂਤ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਡੇ ਵੱਲ ਖੜ੍ਹੇ ਹੋ ਕੇ, ਸਾਂਝੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣ ਨਾਲ ਲੜ ਰਹੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਿਚਾਰਧਾਰਕ ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਲੜ ਪਈਏ ਤੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣ ਦੋਵਾਂ ਗਲ਼ਾ ਵੱਢ ਕੇ ਕੰਮ ਮੁਕਾ ਦੇਵੇ।
