Convict books: Australia's Birthstain, Cargo of Women & Luck of the Irish, Defiant Voices (2021). Also Mothers & Sons - Did feminism change the relationship?

So am I. It was going to be wonderful. Mind you, I'm a bit sick and had to warn the organisers I would have to pull out but it was a huge disappointment. And then the whole conference was due to COVID. Made me feel a little less lonely about it.
It doesn’t get glam-er than this. #MarilynMonroe wore this scarlet rayon #velvetdress to the 1956 premiere of the movie A View From The Bridge. The body conscious contours flare into a fishtail, a fiery #mermaid dress @museodelamoda
This 1889 view of Cobbler's Bay in #Sydney is by Edward Perier, a French painter and teacher. Perier arrived in Sydney in 1882 and devoted most of his life to educational reforms for teaching languages. #WatercolourWednesday

Today I start a new job. How I would love to be walking into the glorious State Library of NSW instead of into my home office, so familiar by now. But wherever I do it, I'm so excited to be the new editor of the @statelibrarynsw Openbook magazine for the next year.
So fresh are the colours of this mid #1770s robe à la française that it looks as if it has just had its final silk chenille #trimmings stitched into place for the customer to admire. It is candy stripe bright, a chocolate box gown delectable in its details @LACMA#18thcentury
@BabetteSmith Found my mums vaccination certificate circa 1973 when it was required to enter Australia. Don’t understand all the fuss. Vaccine passports existed and have been used before.
Grateful for all the reviews of Fury but this one in the Weekend Australian this morning made my heart explode. "The heart of this book is a blazing white-hot joy." 🙏
