Chinese stocks plunged amid epic volatility and record volume. The HSTECH plunged >15% at one stage. Mainland shares marked up to reflect the pricing gap during the holiday —— no surprise there.
Today’s NDRC presser underwhelmed, with non new policy announcement, and mostly focusing on elaborating on existing policies, emphasizing on execution, and shoring confidence to achieve the 5% growth target. Market promptly sold off.
Indeed, sentiment and expectations were running wild before today’s meeting. I would argue that no matter the news, good or bad, the market today is set for an epic fall —— simply because it’s unprecedentedly overbought.
