@louishoulbrooke Congressional Cemetery. Both an active Cemetery and dog park. J Edgar Hoover is buried there and incidentally surrounded by gay activists who gave the ultimate eff u in death.
@louishoulbrooke You can join The Trump’s at The Russian House for top vodka. Though you won’t really see the Trump’s you will see lots of high class call girls.
@louishoulbrooke Ben’s Chili Bowl is also an institution. Bring antacids with you, however. Always fun to go see the Exorcist Steps in Georgetown. See if you can spot Darth Vader at the National Cathedral. The Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens are fascinating and in the middle of the hood.
@louishoulbrooke Perry’s Drag Queen Brunch is awesome. Also in Adams Morgan is one of the best Mexican places in town Lauriol Plaza. Tortilla Coast (or T-Coast) On Capitol Hill is also great. There is very few good coffee places but you can’t go wrong with Tryst. Otherwise, Starbucks. Ugh.
@louishoulbrooke Old Ebbit Grill is a DC institution. And it well worth hitting Georgetown. Arlington Cemetery is stunning and moving. And if you feel driving out of town Old Town Alexandria is US 2nd oldest city and about 20 mins further is G. Washington’s house Mt Vernon.
@louishoulbrooke Then it’s interns giving you a tour so they’ve been known to make crap up. If you’re going to the Spy Museum hit Jaleo for fab tapas. Cap Lounge is the Backbencher of DC. Also, have cheap drink nights. Capital Grille is lobby heaven (esp GOP) & great steaks
@louishoulbrooke DC: all the museums are free on the Mall. Well worth visiting the American History, Air & Space, American Indian, and African American museums. Holocaust Museum is amazing but I believe there’s a fee, same with Spy Museum. Your the Capitol but if it is still as it used to be...
