US govt report talks of Pak success in May war, to the glee of our illegal govt. But the 100 pg report just has half a line on that without any back-up analysis. So its hard to take it seriously. The only comprehensive report i have seen that gives detailed data and analysis is the Stimson report based on global and regional reports and GPS. It gives a more nuanced picture of the gains and losses of both sides and suggests no outright win for any side but some edge for India. Since it gives detailed data, anyone who disagrees with it can prove some of its data wrong via similarly detailed data from credible sources. that would be the rational and objective way. mere accusations of bias without evidence will not be enough. https://t.co/HSKud62u4t

The Government of India must, without hesitation or undue delay, grant political asylum under international law to ousted Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and ousted Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal. Political asylum (which is often simply referred to as ‘asylum’) under international law is grant of protection by a state to non-nationals who apprehend or risk danger to their lives or face persecution or other human rights abuses in their own country.

Sheikh Hasina and her ousted Home Minister have been condemned to death by a kangaroo court (which has taken the grand title of International Crimes Tribunal-1) in a process orchestrated by pro-Islamist forces.

It must be acknowledged that Sheikh Hasina is no innocent. Her prime ministership began promisingly — on a secular and democratic platform — in the second half of the 1990s. But her rule quickly deteriorated during her second prime ministership, which was marked by authoritarianism, persecution of political opponents, suppression of democratic rights, including free speech and media freedom, and at times brutal repression. The deadly repression unleashed by her security forces and the state during the 2024 crackdown on the student uprising was indefensible and cannot be condoned. But there were also positive aspects of Sheikh Hasina’s rule, such as opposition to extremist Islamist ideology and actions, and the pursuit of a friendly foreign policy towards India and other neighbouring countries.

Bangladesh at one point in time looked like having got its act together, cut off any remnants of its association with Pakistan and heading towards development in a democratic way with a stable government but then the stability was short lived and chaos has returned in the neighbourhood.

A historic first!

One of the largest and the world’s fastest growing LPG market opens up to the United States.

In our endeavour to provide secure affordable supplies of LPG to the people of India, we have been diversifying our LPG sourcing.

In a significant development, Indian PSU oil companies have successfully concluded a 1 year deal for imports of around 2.2 MTPA LPG, close to 10% of our annual imports - for the contract year 2026, to be sourced from the US Gulf Coast- the first structured contract of US LPG for the Indian market.

This purchase is based on using Mount Belvieu as the benchmark for LPG purchases and a team of our officials from @IndianOilcl , @BPCLimited & @HPCL had visited the US and engaged in discussions with major US producers over the last few months, which have been concluded now.

Under the leadership of PM @narendramodi Ji, our PSU oil companies have been providing LPG at the lowest global prices to all our mothers and sisters. Even as global prices soared by over 60% last year, Modi Ji ensured that our Ujjwala consumers continued to receive LPG cylinder at just ₹500-550 whereas the actual cost of the cylinder was over ₹1100. Government of India incurred the cost of over ₹40000 crores last year in order to ensure our mothers and sisters did not feel the burden of rising international LPG prices.
