The unofficial official profile of James Backstrom, the up-and-coming author/adviser. Fantasy, sci-fi, humor, YA, I've got it all...planned. Coming soon™.
@MageGrayWolf1@shadmbrooks It was his first or second Wheel of Time reaction on the Knight's Watch channel. His friends made the comment and he was very clear that he didn't say it himself while laughing and clearly agreeing.
@jenichappelle The strange family dynamics of the realm mean they were raised in different households, so their relationships are a tad different than we'd expect.
@jenichappelle Well, the Mc is a half brother to the son of the local lord by their mother, and that half brother is also half brother to the mc's love interest through their father. The three grew up as best friends.
@jwparente Thanks Justin! A chapter swap sounds great. First or random chapter? Also, thanks for the note about dms. I fixed it. Want to exchange email addresses and go from there?
Hello #RevPitWaiting, I could use another critique partner. I write adult fantasy (dark, epic, and comedic) and young adult Sci-Fi. Anybody with similar interests? DM me!
#RevPitWaiting wants to know my favorite read of the year? @kuangrf's Poppy War trilogy. Also happens to perfectly match the tone of my sub, but not the themes.
@MagicalHippo I'm with you. Actually, my whole package is kinda like that, except my synopsis. It's a fantasy novel. Not all of them can give a complete feel in five pages. I just hope I got them interested enough to read more pages.
Today's #RevPitWaiting? Favorite craft book. My holy trinity is Lajos Egri's The Art of Dramatic Writing, Save the Cat Writes a Novel, and John Truby's The Anatomy of Story.
@Miranda_Darrow@EditorRascon These are really cool. How will I know if it's mine you're talking about? I saw somewhere that an email would be sent. Is that the case here, or is it meant to be anonymous?
