Hi new friends. see this thread for how this account works, how it's somewhat different from @GraphCrimes and how it's somewhat different from bad take twitter
@hecubian_devil@isaiah_bb He's a big epstein fan too. I'm just not sure what exactly is the benefit to him being around. He can have his views changed but that shouldn't give him a ticket to the party
@Y2Ksnurf@USA_Polling Btw this is not against the idea of cooperatives. We should be doing more with collective ownership and other interesting ideas. But the good is in the complex, there is danger in ideology
@Y2Ksnurf@USA_Polling And should we base society primarily on "those who work". What of those who don't, or can't? I'm no individualist, but it seems like only transferring power from one interest group to another. Economic power? Maybe this is good. Political power? Not so sure.
@Y2Ksnurf@USA_Polling I do prefer more complicated participatory forms of government in the abstract. But I don't see syndicalism as necessarily incompatible with liberal democracy. Unless liberalism = capitalism, which i don't accept
@Y2Ksnurf@USA_Polling Personally I would call liberal democracy the least bad form of government so far. If you've got a better one that doesn't rely on some form of idealism let me know
@bengrossbg I think some of the problem is that Rawls is (often) taught as a sort of woke lefty figure because he's contrasted, somewhat rightly, to people like Nozick so there becomes a con/lib divide which really does not do Rawls much justice
