For thousands of years, babies slept with their mothers. When they cried, they were attended to. Then two men came along: Dr. Holt and John B. Watson. They said babies should be trained. That babies had to fit the assembly line schedules of their parents. "Newborns must cry to expand their lungs," they claimed. "Simply let them cry it out." And that's how the "cry it out" sleep training method was born. Watson treated babies like experiments. "Never hug or kiss your child," he wrote. "Shake hands with them in the morning." After all, mothers needed rest, to attend to their husbands and households. Watson had four children. Three attempted suiciฤe. One succeeded. And we still follow it today. Because once you convince a mother to ignore her baby's cries, you've broken something primal.
I'LL SAY IT AGAIN:
IT SHOULD BE ILLEGAL to charge a "convenience fee" for paying a bill online. The convenience is for the company. The fee is for you.
@ThrillaRilla369 I do this now and love it. I maintain the household and do 98% of the outside chores/projects and animal tending. I also run a small business as a western maker.
Honestly, I canโt imagine going back out and getting a โrealโ job ๐
A farmer in Texas says he hasn't seen a single live calf born since a data center was built next to his property.
Only stillbirths since.
If that's happening to livestock what effects will it have on the people around it?
@muheediva01 My kids have kid uncles as well and we make sure itโs VERY known they are children. One is actually a few months younger than our oldest!
Luckily itโs a small town so itโs common knowledge but I canโt imagine being in a bigger city with that situation๐ฌ
โJust so you know, agriculture uses more water than data centres and golf courses combined.โ
Yes, but we have to eat. We donโt have to use AI or play golf. This is a useless argument.

we live on a planet where trees warn each other of danger through a fungal network. Where octopuses dream.
Where elephants return to the bones of the deceased and stand over them in silence. Where bees use dance to communicate where to fly and where the flower is.
Where crows remember the faces of people who were cruel to them and pass this memory to their children.
Where ants build cities. Where cats purr at a frequency that accelerates the healing of bones.
Where, after a forest fire, the first thing the earth does is grow flowers.
Well then your wives can go out and get a job and your kids can mow lawns and clean houses just like I did until I was old enough to get a regular job at 16. And if that still doesnโt work then you and your wife can find second jobs. Go without nonessentials. Budget, you bitch.
America didnโt go broke because citizens worked too little.
America went broke because Congress spent too much, lied too often, and protected themselves instead of the people. ๐บ๐ธ

I have a theory that ethanol blending, deforestation, data centers, climate crisis, ground water crisis is being promoted so that government can tax water in the future
No bestie, you cannot pay me to crochet something for you.
First of all, the yarn for that project costs $50.
Itโs going to take 60 hours to complete. If youโre offering me minimum wage (but Iโve been doing this for years so really?),
60 x $15.15 = $909
+ cost of yarn = $959
That blanket is gonna run you almost $1,000. ๐
And that is why you cannot find real crocheted items in stores.
And why you should hug your grandmama when she crochets something for you.
NEW: 25-year-old elementary teacher arrested after allegedly admitting to her husband that she was cheating on him with a teenager.
Mackenzie Naught, a teacher in Whitman County, Washington, was reportedly friends with the boy's family.
She allegedly pressured the teen to meet up with her in the middle of the night. She was "being flirty" with the teen in Snapchat messages while her husband was asleep.
Naught then pressured the teen to pick her up from her home around 2 am. They then drove to a location, and they allegedly had s*x in the bed of the truck, according to local reports.
"Court documents say Naughtโs husband reportedly found evidence on her phone that allegedly showed that she had sexual contact with a 16-year-old boy," the Lewiston Tribune reported.
The husband, who has been married to Naught for four years, provided evidence of the alleged crime to the police.
Naught has reportedly been a teacher at St. John-Endicott Cooperative Schools since 2025.
She was charged with felony first-degree s*xual misconduct with a minor.
