Tin Fandango showed today he’s probably had enough of racing now - didn’t want to go forward even from back
Lucky for him we had said it’s his last race - sad day in some ways as lovely horse but has a great home to go to
Happy Retirement Tin
@almracing@FfosLasRC@BHAStewards Maybe Dai needs a decent t weather app that shows the amount of rain . This AM I saw the rain forecast and expected desperate heavy ground. We’ve waited over a year to get such conditions. Callum Shepard said it was obvious when he got there holes filled with water
@almracing@FfosLasRC@BHAStewards this is poor Comms, poor decision making and shocking awareness of their course and the weather. PLEASE BOYCOTT Ffos. NEVER go to this clown show of a track again. I will never send a horse there, disgrace
@marcuspolo1981@almracing Yes boycott them. Tip of a track and not the first time they call it late or for certain races. At least other tracks say there may be an issue or inspection .
@almracing@FfosLasRC@BHAStewards no it’s an utter shambles. They called the ground this AM, could easily have said we MAY have to inspect later given the forecast. We also travelled there cost hundreds. Staff wasted a whole day. These clowns then call an inspection AT RACE TIME
@stumat@FfosLasRC@BHAStewards So will owners and trainers get any refund for the travel and lost wages and time. We have had meetings cancelled before but never in this manner and always with an inkling that there may be an issue or inspection. Not right wine we are all there and about to race. Jokers
@stumat@FfosLasRC@BHAStewards Ffos are an utter disgrace in how this was handled. I’ll never send a horse there again and hope other owners / trainers take note as we have lost hundreds of pounds on a trip that could have been avoided if they literally gave a shit or had a brain,
@stumat Or maybe even said this AM that a possible inspection might be needed given the forecast rain. The utter clowns even changed going to heavy one hour before they called it off and declared ground raceable, cost me hundreds of pounds and staff wasted a whole Sunday
@FfosLasRC Will you refund the horse travel costs and staff wages. Get a proper weather app that shows due rainfall. You are a shambles calling it this late, not even a warning at 7:17 am when you declared going that you may have to review. Never want to send a horse there again, Clowns.
@BHAStewards@pigeon_island@FfosLasRC Disgusting really. Horses already there, Shambolic, you know the forecast and rainfall due. It was raceable an hour ago . Owners lost money and travelled for hours. Wasn’t sudden or “freak” weather. Never want to declare a horse there again. Waited weeks for heavy ground
@nevercomicsans @yrrapdivad @WarwickRaces@RacehorseOwners Can be expensive and frustrating when not going right. Guess I’m ready to agree that courses should just give full access even if NR :)
@nevercomicsans @yrrapdivad @WarwickRaces@RacehorseOwners Yes normally most are pulled night or two night before due to ground, or pulled in morning due to injury. Not eating up etc.
I had one the other night who made it there and got pulled from stalls. Another declared and hurt himself morning of race, full jockey fees paid.
@nevercomicsans @yrrapdivad @WarwickRaces@RacehorseOwners So it’s very easy for me to say we deserve the “perks” of access and meals for multiple people if we declare a NR. Given the small amount of “abuse” that may entail prob right to say just give them it but providing a balanced counter argument.
@nevercomicsans @yrrapdivad @WarwickRaces@RacehorseOwners Possibly but if paid £47 or similar and entry is. £20 and you want 6 people to attend and expect food etc then maybe there is a confer argument
Now I’m playing devils advocate as I pay thousands per month for training , failed entries etc
@nevercomicsans @yrrapdivad @WarwickRaces@RacehorseOwners Huge meetings like Royal Ascot etc May be a different matter so I get the concept of still wanting to go racing or giving tickets away to friends.
