The Ultimate User Acquisition Guide
You didn’t launch a campaign to get 17 users, but that’s where most Web3 drops stall. You posted, hyped, and linked, and still, barely anyone showed up.
Because user acquisition isn’t about “going viral.” It’s about placing your entry where users are, giving them something to click now, and making that first step feel like progress. Before you retain users, you have to earn their attention.
And if your dashboard says: “112 connects, but they’re highly engaged,” no one in leadership is nodding.
You need 1,000+ users in the first hour. A spike your team can see. A dashboard you’re not afraid to drop in Slack.
We’ve seen what makes that happen, and this is how. 👇
(Bookmark this if there’s a KPI breathing down your neck)
Start where scale begins
You don’t get 10K users from a homepage link. You get them by placing the campaign entry where users already are.
Here’s what that looks like:
1️⃣ Reply-to-join X threads👇
(You post a tweet thread that ends with: “Reply with 🔑 to join.”
Users reply → your bot or auto-DM sends them a custom invite link to the campaign.
It boosts reach, triggers the algorithm, and converts passive scrollers into active entrants without ever leaving X.)
2️⃣ Telegram/Discord mission bots 👇
Bots drop tasks right inside chat (e.g., “sign to start,” “join to earn”).
No redirection: just action, where users already hang out.
3️⃣ Onchain invite links 👇
Each user gets a shareable link tied to their wallet. When someone joins through it, you track the source and acquire a new user.
Every user becomes a trackable acquisition source.
4️⃣ Group-based unlocks 👇
Rewards unlock only when 2–3 users complete a task together. So users bring friends in to finish it.
Turns individual effort into peer-driven growth.
5️⃣ Embed quests right into your landing page👇
If users are already landing on your site, don’t send them elsewhere.
Drop the quest right there; let them connect, complete a task, or drop an email without switching context.
You get the lead and the action, without the bounce.
If your campaign starts in their scroll, it has a real shot at going viral.
Design Day 0 like it’s your only shot
Most users won’t wait to “figure it out.” If nothing happens after connect, they bounce without converting.
What Day 0 should deliver:
1️⃣ A task they can complete in under 30 seconds
2️⃣ A visible reward or XP boost for finishing it
3️⃣ A clear next action that doesn’t require reading
If you don’t lead them fast, you lose them faster. Every second of confusion costs you a potential user.
Let users become your distribution
You won’t scale with CTAs alone. You scale when users turn into multipliers.
Here’s how:
1️⃣ Reward referrals only when the invited user completes a task
2️⃣ Stack benefits for early sharers (XP, access, status)
3️⃣ Trigger bonuses when 2–3 connected users complete the same step
→ e.g. “Get a reward if three of your invitees finish Task 1” — it nudges users to bring in active friends, not just drop links
If a user can’t benefit from inviting others, they won’t. And if users don’t have a reason to share, your reach caps early.

Use rewards that feel real now
“Stick around for the future airdrop” isn’t enough anymore.
What works right now:
• Leaderboards with visible rankings
• Task-based NFT progress badges
• Discord/X roles unlocked by completion
• Instant XP, whitelists, or spotlight shoutouts
• Onchain rewards redeemable for real-world merch
If users can’t see the incentive, they won’t chase it. And if they don’t chase it, they never become YOUR users.
Stack loops, not ladders
Most campaigns run like a one-time checklist. You want a campaign that brings users back daily.
Add systems like:
1️⃣ Resettable daily tasks
2️⃣ Time-based unlocks that reward re-entry
3️⃣ Missions that activate based on past choices
4️⃣ Streak bonuses that stack XP or visibility
If your campaign ends after the first task, so will your growth. P.S: Loops aren’t only for retention; they’re how you keep acquiring without spending more.
After the wave, clean the funnel
Don’t pre-filter for “quality.” Bring the crowd first, then focus on depth. Once users land:
• Add signature or captcha gates to catch bots
• Track how many go beyond Task 1
• Segment who clicked, who shared, and who returned
• Focus bonus rewards on those who show up twice
Volume is step one. Signal comes next. Filtering after scale lets you keep the users who matter,
Volume is step one. Signal comes next. Filtering after scale lets you keep the users who matter,
TL;DR: Want to show real traction? This is your playbook:
1️⃣ Embed the entry inside user behavior
2️⃣ Make Day 0 feel like real progress
3️⃣ Turn every user into a potential growth channel
4️⃣ Give rewards that users can actually see
5️⃣ Add systems that loop people back
6️⃣ Clean the funnel after the spike, not before

3 Filters to Fix Your Web3 Funnel
Only 15% of wallets take meaningful actions after connecting. The rest either bounce immediately or never come back.
This means that in most live campaigns, when 1,200 wallets connect, over 1,000 disappear before completing even one task. The funnel isn’t broken; it’s leaking.
Here’s how to catch and solve your funnel’s leak: with 3 brutal filters every Web3 campaign needs.
[Bookmark this if you run Web3 campaigns.]
Filter #1 – Signed Wallet Actions
Just because someone connects doesn’t mean they’ll act. Most are bots, airdrop tourists, or just curious.
Signed Wallet Actions ask users to sign a gasless message before they do anything important, such as starting a campaign, confirming a task, or claiming a reward. This simple element turns passive clicks into PoI (Proof-of-Intent), giving a clean signal of who’s in the room.
Lens Chain (@LC) does this before login. Not for show but for signal.
It takes 2 seconds. It stops bots, filters tourists, and tells you who’s present, not just connected.
Filter #2 – UTM Attribution Links
Without attribution links, you’re guessing who brought whom.
Every traffic source, including KOL, collab posts, and Telegram drops, should have its own UTM. And it should track the full journey from the first click to the final task.
We’ve seen teams flag low-performing partners in under 72 hours and reallocate budgets to channels bringing ROI.
At @stiqy_io, attribution is built in. No spreadsheets. No screenshots. Just clean, click-to-completion clarity.
Filter #3 – Action Depth Tracking
Most funnels stop tracking at wallet connect. That’s when the real drop-off starts.
Action Depth tracks how far each wallet/user goes:
◆ Who completes just Task 1
◆ Who skips halfway
◆ Who finishes everything
◆ Who returns after a day or two
Data shows fewer than 20% of users return after 7 days. Action depth tells you who might. With Action depth tracking, you don’t simply see behavior, you understand it.
Comment “Action” and we’ll send you a full breakdown of how to track depth across milestones, re-entries, and user sessions, as smart funnels do.
Without Filters vs With Filters
Same campaign. Two very different realities.
Here’s what we typically see: before and after filtering:
❌ Without filters:
• 1,400 connects
• 900 reward claims
• 110 full task completions
• 0 real attribution
✔ With filters:
• 840 signers
• 620 task completions
• 100 tracked contributors
• Full source + return data
Which outcome would you prefer?
TL;DR ✅
If you made it this far, here’s your recap of the 3 filters that patch the biggest funnel leaks:
1. Signed Wallet Actions – Confirm intent before users act
2. UTM Attribution – Trace who really drove results
3. Action Tracking – Track how deep users go, not just that they showed up
We’re testing all three at @stiqy_io. Curious to hear what you’re already using, or missing.
