@Mamiwatar I'm sure the movie explained it. You saw Thor whispering on the hammer and he requested to protect Jane so the hammer understood the assignment. Jane had cancer so the armor gave her strength in battles. Cap can also have Asgardian armor but still needs to learn how to summon it
