China is looking to support the AKD government by sending 10 Million Chinese Tourists to Sri Lanka within 2 years if the infrastructure is in place to support the accommodation.
People of SriLanka wants a Developed Nation, Just Providing the Means of Living is not Enough because People of SriLanka Lived their Life even Before the Government of @anuradisanayake
I am not aware of others, but this is a good decision by NPP. Let’s keep him and Dr. NW until we get out of the trouble permanently. Country should move forward.
These were the comments on the @NewsfirstSL live stream when the northern province results were announced. We will never progress under any leader as long as we allow racism to prevail. The stuff said is truly worrying and it's the kind of hate that divided this nation 2 begin wt
🗳️Political parties are making a grave mistake by promising the impossible. A 20,000 salary hike requires a 4% VAT increase (according to the government in July), yet some propose 25%-50% salary hikes with VAT cuts. How is this sustainable?
Good if we can do it very fast. We have to move very fast in AI than other countries. AI is the Next Biggest Opportunity we have to Capitalize on it Regardless of who comes to Power @RW_UNP@sajithpremadasa
Sri Lanka 🇱🇰 Needs Presidential Debates: Lessons from the US
⭕ Last night's presidential debate between Joe Biden and Donald Trump for the 2024 US 🇺🇸Presidential election highlighted the importance of debates in presidential elections.
⭕ The debate confirmed concerns about Joe Biden's cognitive decline, which many had previously dismissed as opposition attacks. The unfiltered view shocked everybody in the US, and there are now serious discussions about potentially replacing Biden on the Democratic ticket.
⭕ In Sri Lanka 🇱🇰, we don't have presidential debates. Candidates hide behind marketing campaigns, media portrayals, and practiced speeches. Voters have to rely on these to decide who they're going to vote for. If we had debates, our 2015 and 2019 elections might have turned out differently
⭕ In this election cycle in Sri Lanka, despite their differences, each of the three main candidates has a non-zero chance of getting elected. A strong debate performance could be a game changer for any candidate.
If the public truly demands it, the candidates would have to debate. This time we may have a unique opportunity to start a culture of presidential debates, which would be a wonderful addition to Sri Lanka's democratic process.
SriLankan Mentality is not Good, First We need to Correct this, Do it Through the TV Channels and Social Media. We need to Change the Perception of the Ppl @Dailymirror_SL@RW_UNP@fernandoharin@SagalaRatnayaka
India’s Taj Hotel group wanted to construct a hotel adjoining the Nuwara Eliya post office but withdrew following protests by the public, President Ranil Wickremesinghe said.
The President insisted that the proposal did not include demolishing the old post office as alleged by the public.
He said that the people in Galle want more hotels there but the people in Nuwara Eliya are not thinking on the same lines.
Need to Take Action against these Ppl and if he is wrong. We need to Create a Tourist Friendly Nation. @fernandoharin Plz compensate that Tourist so that he will be Satisfied
If you are in Colombo or planning to visit, be aware of this guy. He is trying to sell a kothu for RS 1900 to a foreigner which will only cost Rs 800. When he said that he is not interested, he is trying to insult the guy by chasing him away. Price displays should be made mandatory. Actions need to be taken for such people. #LKA
