There she lay, exhausted, surrounded by the simple goods she had just bought, slipped away right before the eyes of helpless strangers. No one stepped forward with the knowledge that could have changed everything, a proper body position to ease her breathing, steady hands ready to perform CPR before emergency arrived.
We watch loved ones suffer and fade because basic life-saving skills were never taught.
It doesn’t have to be like this.
That is why critical thinking, first aid, and basic emergency response must be taught in our schools, not as an option, but as a necessity.
Every child should leave the classroom knowing how to save a life, because one day, that life might be their mother, their sibling, or even their own.💔
Funny how memories fade. When Ambode introduced Visionscape to modernize waste management, many PSP operators with political interests fought it, claiming Lagos was dirtier. The cleaner Lagos is now celebrated. Progress often are built on reforms not resistance #Lagos
Mr. Wahab,
Impact is felt, not explained in 1,578 words.
Your plastic policy has failed.
Your environmental policy, if one truly exists, has been ineffective.
Your waste management policy has been an unmitigated disaster.
The only area where you have consistently delivered is the demolition of the hard earned properties and livelihoods of ordinary citizens.
Not to mention your Bigotry and Gaslighting.
You have lost the moral authority to remain in office.
You should resign.
Today.
BIRTHDAY QUEEN 👑 - I’ve been challenged , patience tested but never broke & forever unapologetically me! 3-time champion within the year 🏆 It could only be God🙏🏾 proud of the woman I’ve become & grateful to God for everything. Looking forward to what chapter 28 has in store for me 💁🏾♀️💗
How do I explain these?
Travel by Flight
Lagos to Abuja : ₦170,000
Lagos to Port Harcourt : ₦150,000
Lagos to Delta : ₦250,000
London (UK 🇬🇧 ) to Edinburgh (Scotland): £25(₦47,500)
London to Paris (France ) : £35(₦66500)
London to Barcelona (Spain): £20 (₦38,000)
Within Nigeria is more expensive than me travelling from UK 🇬🇧 to another European country.
Note: All these are roughly figures and not exact , time of bookings could change.
Nigeria air flight companies just like exploiting Nigerians.
Let me help you add context to this viz-a-viz the distance to make it resonate & sink in better;
Lagos to Abuja — 511 Km : ₦170,000
Lagos to Port Harcourt — 437 Km : ₦150,000
Lagos to Delta — 300 Km : ₦250,000
London (UK 🇬🇧 ) to Edinburgh (Scotland) — 510 Km : £25(₦47,500)
London to Paris (France ) — 308 Km : £35(₦66500)
London to Barcelona (Spain) — 1,140 Km : £20 (₦38,000)
Now someone should explain this insanity to me to make it make sense
We buy data to use the technology, but now we must turn off the technology just to afford the data.
They always know how to regulate Nigerians into shape in a market economy.
Please read and digest this post if you are looking for a job.
Applied to ExxonMobil 3 times, I didn't get past the application stage twice. It was my 3rd attempt that I got the job. Please apply for a job just one more time and even if it doesn't come, apply again.
I know you have sent your CV to many places, you have sent over 200 CVs still no response, I say to you, apply one more time.
Am not saying it has to be Exxonmobil (EM) or any other Oil and Gas company. It can be any other other company. The website to apply for jobs in EM is https://t.co/XqZ2Ofz9Sc & for Shell, it is https://t.co/dWIIWRaquW
You need a job because bills must be paid. You need a job because there is Dignity in Labour. You need a job because my money and our money are 2 different things.
Working for an Oil and Gas company was my Goal. While I was in UNIUYO, I told my friends that I would work for an International Oil Company (IOC).
People used to laugh and say, you think it is easy to get an oil company job, told them I would get it and I did.
Mind you, I didn't study a science course in the University. I was a science student in FGGC Ikot Obio Itong/Ikot Abasi, passed Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry but hated Physics & didn't excel at it. Guess why? My Physics Teacher, Mr. Enema was born again and always talked about God. It annoyed me so much that the moment he walked into class, I walked out.
Long story short, I dumped science & studied Economics in UNIUYO. People told me I needed to study a science course to get an Oil company job.
My eldest brother, Barrister Bassey Dan-Abia Jnr AKA Badanz, my paddy for life said to me, Mfon, how do you think you are going to get an Oil company job? He said, Go get your Masters. Didn't have masters, told myself, there are people who don't have masters but work in oil companies. Get your Masters if you can and want to do so. It's a plus.
Companies invited me to write tests but didn't go past the test stage.
Travelled to Lagos to write Ernst & Young , KPMG and Augusto & Co tests.
When I did KPMG test, we were told that they would get back to us the next day. Guess what? I got a response same day that I was not successful. I didn't know whether to cry or laugh, told my twin sister (a Christian to the core) the outcome and she said, Mfon, your job is not in Lagos. She was living and working in Lagos at that time. Guess what? She was right. My job was not Lagos, It was in Akwa Ibom State where I worked and fought for my people.
Travelled back to PH, didn't give up and kept applying. My Dad, My No 1 Cheerleader kept paying for flights to go write those tests. Never for once did he complain that he was spending money and I wasn't getting any job.
Was constantly buying Tuesday and Thursday Guardian Newspapers to search for jobs till my Dad asked me to stop and offered to buy them for me.
Got back to PH and my elder sister said, Mfon, you are too intelligent, why are you not passing all these tests? She was working in Shell at that time so I knew anything I said won't make sense to her so I kept quiet.
She gave me a GMAT book to practice and said, go practice the questions and I did.
It's my story and I share it to encourage at least one person out there not to give up applying for jobs.
All you need is one Yes and I pray you get that one Yes that will change your life forever.
I got a Yes and it ExxonMobil. ExxonMobil changed my life forever!
Thank you for reading, now go apply for that job.

The airline lost my bag for 72 hours.
They handed me a $50 “courtesy” voucher at the baggage desk and smiled like they’d done me a favor.
I kept the voucher. Then I opened my laptop and used a 1999 international treaty they never mention at check-in.
Total recovered: $1,650.
Here are the three legal weapons most passengers never know they have.
Not a time to share a joke, promote entertainment or campaign!!!! People died, people are dying not from natural causes but TERRORISM AND BANDITRY… We cannot let this abnormality become our normal in Naija… The country is BLEEDING
So what exactly is the point the owners are trying to make by keeping Slot? Is this about standards, rebuilding, patience, or just lowering expectations altogether? Fans deserve clarity because right now it feels like there’s no real direction. #LFC
🚨 Arne Slot on plans for next season: “We brought in a lot of players last season. When they're available again, that will be a change”.
“Every football club will sign one or two and we will do that. We need everyone available and then our results will be better”.
