“The Word of the Lord is the sole, supreme, and unchallengeable standard for the actions and attitudes of all men in all areas of life”
Dr. Greg Bahnsen
Flashback to when I was Muslim, I wasn't searching for a new religion.
I was just trying not to fail.
Everything I did was about staying in bounds. The prayers. The fasting. The community. The performance.
Not because I loved God deeply. because I was terrified of losing His favor.
So, when Christians told me, "Jesus loves you" or "Jesus died for you," it never landed. It felt random.
Because they didn't understand the pressure I was carrying. For me, it wasn't truth versus lies.
It was acceptance versus rejection. Safety versus losing everything.
Family, community and identity.
The thing that finally broke through wasn't a debate, or a sermon.
It was one question:
"Do you ever feel like you're doing everything right and still feel far from God?"
That question wrecked me. Because the answer was yes.
I just never had the courage to say it out loud.
So if you're trying to reach Muslims, slow down, ask better questions, see the fear behind the arguments.
I wasn't fighting the Gospel: I was afraid it might be true.
And if it was true, I knew it would cost me everything.
What I needed wasn't more pressure. I needed someone willing to walk with me long enough for the truth to take root.
@IjazTheTrini@thejoshthebear In Matthew 23:1-3 Jesus is saying that even though what the scribes and Pharisees say may be correct, they don’t practice what they teach, so don’t do what they do. In John 8:44-48 Jesus was performing a spiritual paternity test for the Jewish leaders to follow Him, not Satan
Failure to distinguish different senses. The Bible unilaterally teaches that no one aside from God is good of himself. However, those who repent and trust in God are treated by God as if they were righteous because Christ’s righteousness has been imputed to them (2 Corinthians 5:21; Roman’s 5:19; Isaiah 53:12; Revelation 7:9). So, those who have faith in God are counted as righteous (Romans 4:3-5), not by their own works but by Christ’s (Titus 3:5). These are the righteous that Jesus mentions in Matthew 13:46:48, 22:10.
