We are closer to a peace deal than ever before. With finalisation likely expected in the next 24 hours, Pakistan is preparing for the electronic signing of the peace deal immediately after, followed by technical level talks next week.
We would like to thank United States of America and Islamic Republic of Iran for their ongoing commitment during the negotiations, and we extend our sincere appreciation to our brothers in the region for their support. We are confident that this historic peace deal will form a strong foundation for lasting peace.

BREAKING: US believes Iran's supreme leader has approved the broad template for draft deal with Iran. Iran has agreed in principle that in exchange for the US lifting blockade, Iran will agree in principle to dispose of highly enriched uranium. This draft has to make its way through the leadership system. But US wants them to commit to dispose of HMU and commit to resolve other nuclear issues. @VP, Witkoff, Kushner involved in negotiations. US trying to involve every middle eastern ally. @CBSNews
According to my sources, the draft proposal that’s supposed to be finalised include:
-End of war on all fronts including Lebanon
-Freeing several billion dollars of Iran's blocked funds
-Lifting the U.S. naval blockade and opening the strait of Hormuz
-Withdrawal of American forces from the immediate vicinity of Iran
After this, the parties will have 30 days to agree on the nuclear issue.
These 30 days can be extended by mutual agreement.
During these thirty days, passage will be facilitated through the strait.
According to Iran, management of the Strait of Hormuz will be an Iranian-Omani issue, and is being negotiated with Muscat.
UN: More than 390,000 people have crossed the border from Lebanon since early March. That is 90,000 since a month ago. More than 80 per cent of those arrivals are Syrian, and more than 86,000 have indicated an intention to stay permanently. Many need some level of support #Syria
Palestinian journalist Ali al-Samoudi was recently released from Israeli prison, where he was held for a year without charge and without a trial. He lost around half his body weight behind bars. “It was a real hell,” he tells @JDiamond1, in this heart-wrenching report.
I am delighted to welcome the peacemakers to Washington, D.C.: His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar.
He is a dedicated leader who works tirelessly, not only for the advancement of peace, security, and economic prosperity in Qatar but also on a global scale. @MBA_AlThani_

Four years after Israel's killing of Palestinian American journalist Shireen Abu Akleh, the reported investigation by the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation into her murder appears to have stalled.

#Lebanon Army Command: General Rudolf Haykal held an extraordinary meeting with US General Joseph Clearfield, Chairman of the 2024 ceasefire monitoring Mechanism Committee.
Nabih Berri, Speaker of Parliament says there is no use of holding talks under fire; the claimed “ceasefire” that Trump has announced in #Lebanon has only allowed Israel to “escalate its aggression” without any intervention from the US administration
Lebanon stands at a crossroads. Its people have a historic opportunity to reclaim their country and shape their future as a truly sovereign, independent nation.
Direct engagement between Lebanon and Israel, two neighboring countries that should have never been at war, can mark the beginning of a national revival. The extended Cessation of Hostilities, achieved at the personal request of President Trump, has given Lebanon the space and the opportunity to put all of its legitimate demands on the table with the full attention of the United States Government.
A direct meeting between President Aoun and Prime Minister Netanyahu, facilitated by President Trump, would give Lebanon the chance to secure concrete guarantees on full sovereignty, territorial integrity, secure borders, humanitarian and reconstruction support, and the complete restoration of Lebanese state authority over every inch of its territory—guaranteed by the United States.
This is Lebanon’s moment to decide its own destiny, one which belongs to all its people. The United States is ready to stand with Lebanon as it seizes this opportunity with confidence and wisdom. The time for hesitation is over.
