Pictured: Seize The Moment in "horse jail" on the arena so that he can finish his breakfast in peace. Our arena doubles as a sort of stand-off pad in winter, so the horses can get off the wet paddocks. The boy offers consolation.

The older I get the more inclined I am to make friends with the women in racing who are described as "bat shit crazy". In my experience, they use more horse-based training techniques and they're probably doing heaps more exciting things for the industry than the crusty, dusty men
