@RHughesPhD76721@MosezellaJones I knew Russell was a good one. You guys are like two peas in pod. 😂 seriously you are blessed to have Russell and Brenda in your life. They are blessed to have you!!
@RHughesPhD76721@MosezellaJones I’m so so grateful that you found Joan and took the time to notice her. I believe Jesus was with you both that fateful day. God Bless You Robert!!
A beautiful update about Joan. For those of you who are new here and you don't know who I'm talking about then scroll back honey just scroll back.
I continue to be amazed everyday at how this all has come about. So here is the latest. I heard from her late yesterday afternoon. By the way she has a phone now. She is learning how to use it because the last one she had was 6 years ago and let's just say the models have changed and there's been one or two updates. Lol.
So remember how I asked some people if they would help donate towards what the church was trying to come up with to get her to go see a dentist. Well thank you very much. She saw the dentist yesterday and I think it's fascinating what she told me. She noticed a difference with interactions with others when she left the dental office and she boarded the bus to return home. She even told me when we were talking about how when she uses the word home it's never followed any more by the word less and it's always a jolt for her in her new reality. This woman is so intelligent as she is aware of so many of the facets of what all she is adjusting to. So when she was on the bus she said there would be people who would look in her direction which we all do. We look at each other and we make eye contact but what she said is that after having her teeth cleaned now when people look in her direction they don't look away immediately like they are frightened. She said, "I can't believe it but I'm actually being recognized whereas I was invisible."
My heart continues to swell every day over everything that has occurred for this woman. Thank you all everyone for making this possible. ❤️
Please consider reposting cuz some people won't see this who did help. I am posting at an hour right now that I rarely do and the algorithm is going to punish me LOL.
When Allyson Felix became pregnant, Nike threatened to cut her sponsorship contract by almost 70% because of her pregnancy.
They told her:
“You should know your place… and just run.”
Amid all this, at seven months pregnant, Allyson had to undergo an emergency C-section due to a serious complication.
Her baby girl spent over a month in the neonatal intensive care unit.
But two years later, Allyson qualified for her fifth Olympic Games, with her daughter in the stands cheering her on.
Allyson left Nike.
And she founded her own shoe brand: Saysh One.
At the Tokyo Olympics, she ran wearing her own sneakers, carrying the motto:
“I know exactly where my place is.”
With 11 medals, she surpassed Carl Lewis and became the most decorated American track and field athlete in history.
And to all women, she gave this message:
“I raised my voice and built this company for you, so that you’ll never have to train at 4:30 in the morning, five months pregnant, just to hide it from your sponsor.” ❤️
Lucy, an 11-year-old dog in Shenandoah County who was rescued from the Middle East, became the center of a legal battle that drew attention from supporters across the country and around the world. Watch the full story from @MasonWillett20 here: https://t.co/zJkkemg1nn
Lucy found me in the desert at a time when I was unfocused and distracted, my thoughts halfway around the world in Virginia with my little son and the new dad life I had left behind me. She kept me grounded and ensured that that little boy's dad would come home to him.
Almost ten years to the day after Lucy came home, she was taken away by the government in the country I served to defend.
Two months later, on the evening before that boy's eleventh birthday, she came home.
It has an appealing symmetry.
I told you I'd update you on what happened yesterday. Well I think that may have to wait a day. It's my son's birthday and I plan to make that my focus today.
@RHughesPhD76721@kpckent Part #2. All because you took the time to talk to Joan and buy her some sprite’s.
Her story is so sad. I truly believe that Jesus had a hand in this. All the pieces of the puzzle just fell into place. All because of You and your caring about others. I’m crying tears of joy.
@RHughesPhD76721@kpckent Robert, I can hardly believe what I’m reading. You took the time to talk to Joan, nobody else did. You took up donations for gift cards, you talked to your pastor. A member of the church said his son was moving out. Now Joan has a place to work and a place to live.
We’re living the Right-to-Try problem in real time.
My 18-year-old daughter Braelyn and I are currently in London so she can receive DCVax-L, an immunotherapy developed in the United States. Despite being pioneered by an American neurosurgeon and showing encouraging long-term survival data, we could not access it in the United States.
Instead, we’re paying hundreds of thousands of dollars, traveling across the Atlantic, and spending weeks away from home to pursue a treatment that originated in our own country.
Patients facing terminal illnesses deserve meaningful access to promising therapies—not just in theory, but in practice.
Please repost this because we have got to get more and more awareness of these finite details if we are ever to have a moral solution. The sin and daily reality for the homeless. This is the sin of the United States. I have given witness to this thousands of times over the years. Is it not enough that these people are on the streets? And I want you to understand it is much more detrimental in detail than what you think. The homeless are expected to constantly and I mean constantly without letting up be on the move. Our sinful government and city leaders throughout the United States have instituted policies that these people cannot even rest their heads. Do you think I'm exaggerating? Have you ever gone to a park years ago and seen the homeless lying on a bench? What did the city do to clean up its image? They put armrests every couple of feet on every bench in the United States so people cannot lay down on them. Remember how homeless people may go into McDonald's and sit and hopefully someone would buy them a coffee. Now restaurants have policies that you cannot loiter. You must be removed. If you are in a park after 10:00 p.m. they will close the gates and you will be arrested. If you go to a bathroom the sign will tell you only for customers and if you go inside looking the way many homeless people do the management will stop you and turn them away. Do you see what is happening here? Have you ever wondered why so many of them are at bus stations? And train stations? Because they panhandle and once they get enough money they get a ticket to go somewhere else because they cannot afford to be recognized anymore locally. So they will go from San Francisco to Sacramento. They will go from Denver to Colorado Springs. They are always on the move. Always always always moving because we have structured it so that they cannot remain still. Every bit of what I am saying here is true without any sense of exaggeration. It's worse than anybody can imagine and I have studied it and I have examined it and I have written about it and I have talked to many homeless people. I have learned much and it breaks my heart. Do you also realize that if you go to a homeless shelter that you don't live there. A person is simply there for the night. And they are not guaranteed the next night. They must all be out of the facility by morning back to the streets. If you try to obtain a job you have to have an address for a job application so the government can tax you but these people cannot even fill out an application because they have no address. Again this is the intentional structure of government that has made it impossible for these people to get ahead. These people are seen as a nuisance and an embarrassment. When Detroit hosted the super bowl the city put all the homeless and hotels so this city would appear appealing to the tourist. When the super bowl was over they were put back on the streets and God bless my favorite author Mitch Albom who created “SAY Detroit” which means Super All Year, offering the little assistance they can. Americans piss me off so much that I bet in my lifetime I have confronted hundreds for what I have seen and heard from people regarding the homeless. You know I traveled a lot throughout my career and I have read hundreds of Google reviews for hotels where people say there were homeless outside the hotel. Think about that. People are flying across the country with money in their pockets at the airport, getting off of a jet and taking an Uber to a posh hotel. They elevator to their high ride suite that overlooks a riverview with a balcony. Breakfast cooked to order. This immorality is unacceptable. The upperclass is upset that there are homeless outside of the hotel interrupting their level of serenity. F them. This is reality. They are not only homeless. They are not allowed to stand still. Accept this because until people understand the plight of what our own brothers and sisters go through it will continue.
