A white physician has sued the online directory "Find A Black Doctor," arguing that limiting participation to Black physicians constitutes racial discrimination.
On its surface, the question seems straightforward:
Should a physician directory be allowed to restrict membership by race?
But that framing misses what I believe is the more important question:
Why did so many patients feel they needed a directory like this in the first place?
The directory didn't come out of thin air.
It emerged within a healthcare system where nearly half of Black patients report experiencing discrimination, where Black women remain far more likely to die from pregnancy-related complications, and where racial disparities persist even after accounting for income and education.
The controversy is not really about a website.
It's about trust.
And what happens when institutions struggle to earn it.
In this essay, I explore:
- Why Black patients actively seek Black physicians
- Why poverty explains much—but not all—of the gap
- Why physician directories may be better understood as a symptom than the problem itself
- And what the existence of "Find A Black Doctor" reveals about the state of trust in American healthcare

153 kids are in quarantine in South Carolina.
118 kids in Minneapolis.
This is what happens when we ignore the science.
When we stop vaccinating, long eradicated diseases come back.
The kids deserve better. Measles can disable. It can kill. And it’s completely preventable.
Conversion therapy is torture. Literally torture. They physically abuse, electrocute and chemically poison gay kids to try and ‘fix’ them. And it doesn’t work. It’s pseudoscience. Those subjected to conversion therapy are 88% more likely to commit suicide and 0% more likely to become straight.
If you voted for this, just know you voted to torture innocent children and make them commit suicide. Let me repeat that: YOU VOTED FOR TORTURE AND SUICIDE. You are evil and psychotic if you support this.
Loomer’s obsession with Black women isn’t politics, it’s envy. She failed where they succeeded, so racism is her coping mechanism.
Crockett has law degrees and legislation under her belt. Loomer has mugshots and ban lists.
i dont understand when people are like “you might not agree with him but you have to respect he’s a man of faith” like why would i care about that. thats made up
