Sounds likely 5⭐️ SF Tyran Stokes will be choosing between Kansas and Kentucky.
It’s become obvious imo, that he is going to wait and sign at the last minute so he can see how each roster is turning over.
So Here are the Facts:
Kansas sits with 4 2026 Commits, While potentially adding 2027 SF Javon Bardwell.
5⭐️ SF Javon Bardwell (Reclass?)
5⭐️ PG Taylen Kinney
4⭐️ C Davion Adkins
4⭐️ SF Trent Perry
4⭐️ SG Luke Barnett.
Tyran Stokes would put them at 6 Freshman, and very deep in NIL to just those 6. Still needing 2-3 other “starters” and a suitable bench. Does KU take that risk? I know their Portal Evals haven’t been the best, but you’d need to hit on these FR even more going this route. Besides Rosario, and hopefully Tiller, who does KU even return?
Kentucky’s roster retention is definitely more clear. You return a Starting SG, (Chandler) a starting C, (Moreno) and if you do land Stokes, you likely retain a starting PG (Lowe) a bonafide starter at SF, (Williams) maybe you add 1-2 upgrades in portal but the point is, you know what the roster is gonna look like around you, and it’s mostly veteran retention who will only help elevate his game.
Tyran is also a Signed Nike athlete. Could there be a way to make KU work? Sure. But I can’t imagine Nike wants to see the #1 Recruit, Signed Athlete, wearing Adidas Gear all season, all promos, etc.
Kentucky has stayed consistently in this recruitment for a reason, they have a strong NIL Offer on the table as @PolacheckKSR has said, and The Nike Connection on their side. It’s hard for me to imagine KU has a stronger NIL package than UK+Nike.
Remember, the Final Signing Period is April 15th, SO he will most likely wait this out to see how each teams roster is turning over, an how each team is hitting the portal.
Reportedly, Tyran is looking to visit Kentucky for a 2nd time soon, so I Wouldn’t count out Kentucky for Tyran Stokes just yet.

🚨 BREAKING: The US strikes on Iran MOVED UP to early last night to catch IRAN OFF GUARD — mere hours after President Trump landed in Florida
"They wanted to catch senior leaders off guard. Saturday morning, during Ramadan, also Shabbat during the day. That's when Israel took the opportunity, dropped 30 bombs on the compound. The US simultaneously struck military targets."
The US ALONE carried out nearly 900 strikes in 12 hours: "An incredibly high number."
"The strike had to be moved up based on intelligence, this so-called 'target of opportunity.' A deliberate decision accelerated the timeline, for the DAYTIME, which is extremely unusual." @JenGriffinFNC
