Kudos to Michigan and Governor Whitmer for championing voting laws that empower citizens and strengthen democracy! A crucial step towards ensuring every voice is heard. 🗳️👏 #Democracy
Today we delivered on our promise to expand voting rights, protect election workers, and safeguard the integrity of elections here in Michigan. These actions will help make sure every vote can be cast and counted.
@nkornutick It would be interesting to see the changes if there was better transit. BNA serves a larger area than metro so they’d still have significant revenue from parking.
Now that the state of TN will fund my private school, is anyone on board to help build Woke Academy? WA will have a science-based & decolonized history-focused curriculum. Drag queens will run the cafeteria with drag brunch on the schedule daily. Pronoun buttons for everyone!
If the evangelicals can create non-sense schools out of thin air, I gotta think there's a way to do this. And I know many people who are looking for freedom to educate their children on this type of curriculum. Let's have Bill Lee pay for it!
It’s really hard to convince my husband we should return to Tennessee when he retires from the military with the state government defunding public education and folks freely walking around rifles.
@nkornutick It makes it so much easier to know when to start dinner. If you have trust in the relationship, everyone approaches it in a healthy way.
When I was single, @sonicjanitor was my GPS friend. I frequently hiked alone & needed someone to know where to find my body if I disappeared
Even though my vote was just one in thousands that voted against Hanson, it may be my favorite vote in my democratic journey so far.
That includes the time I voted for myself.
There’s a lot of work to do, but we’re moving forward.
Franklin Mayor Ken Moore defeated alderman Gabrielle Hanson in a suburban Middle Tennessee mayor’s race that drew unusually high attention after Hanson refused to denounce support from a group of neo-Nazis. From @friedmanadam5. https://t.co/bV1WbCYZFc
@EODHappyCaptain When my spouse was on deployment, he mentioned to his mom that the watch floor was cold. She rallied her knitting friends, and they sent boxes full of fingerless gloves for everyone. Years later, he still talks about it. It's the little things...
Today's the day to see if Congress will pass legislation that allows the military to receive pay during the shutdown. If not, we have 3 days to stock up at the commissary before it shuts down so we can get groceries at an affordable rate.
Recruitment numbers have been consistently low for a few years. I sure hope my Congressman @RepMarkGreen remembers that while he chats with his colleagues and votes. Grandstanding and shutdowns hurt now AND they have long-term impacts on National Defense.
This wouldn't have hurt so much if they hadn't adjusted our Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) down for Hawaii "because the continent has inflation too". (That's some real whataboutism, but I digress.) We're okay, but it's time to beef up donations that support younger troops.
