Wildcats are headed to the national stage!
Baker music education students Kaitlyn Lingle and Alayna Parvin showcased their talent at the 2025 NATS West Central Division Auditions in Laramie, WY earlier this month. Both advanced to the finals, competing against top collegiate vocalists from NE, CO, WY, and KS—finishing 4th and 5th place and qualifying for the national level competition.
Special shoutout to their faculty advisor Marci Ziegler, who traveled with them and supported their journey!
We were thrilled to host Olathe South students for an engaging 3DE Coaching Day at the Baker University Wetlands Discovery Center. Students collaborated with volunteer coaches to tackle real-world business challenges while exploring the beauty and science of our wetlands.
A huge thank you to our partners at Junior Achievement and all the incredible volunteers who made this experience possible!
Big news for Baker University!
We’re proud to announce that Baker has joined the John N. Gardner Institute’s national initiative, Transforming the Postsecondary Experience— a five-year effort dedicated to helping every student thrive and graduate.
As the only university in Kansas participating in this cohort, we’re committed to reimagining how we support students from day one, especially during those critical first two years. This collaboration will bring data-driven strategies, campus-wide engagement, and innovative solutions to enhance academic, social, and personal success.
“This partnership is about more than improving retention– it’s about reimagining how we support students from the moment they step on campus. By engaging in this transformative work with the Gardner Institute, Baker is making a long-term investment in the success of every student and embarking on a bold new era of excellence for the institution.”
- Dr. Jody Fournier, Baker University President

Maple Leaf is the perfect opportunity to visit the newest exhibit at the Quayle Bible Collection.
This year's exhibit is: God’s Outdoors— The Bible and Nature
As a celebration of the collection's 100th anniversary, this exhibit explores the spiritual and environmental dimensions of scripture through two distinct lenses. One half focuses on Bishop William A. Quayle’s personal writings and the Natural Theology of his time, reflecting his deep connection to the prairie and the outdoors. The other half examines how biblical texts have shaped cultural understandings of nature across centuries.
The collection is located in the Spencer Wing of Collins Library, and is open Saturday and Sunday from 12-4.
