we’re excited to reintroduce @valhalla’s battle pass!

we redesigned the mechanics of the battle pass from the ground up, simplified its mechanics, and shipped it in ~3 weeks!

TLDR
our new battle pass is now more akin to what you’d expect from the NFT majors.

⟡ points are now bound to the avatar.
⟡ avatars can earn daily streaks that add a multiplier to their point emissions.
⟡ holding multiple avatars adds an additional points multiplier to the entire team.
⟡ selling or listing your avatar stops points emissions and resets your streak counter.

what is the battle pass?
the battle pass is a simple loyalty program for the valhalla community. holders can earn points for holding their avatars and redeem them for upcoming ecosystem rewards.

why do we need a new battle pass?
I covered this in a prior post here: https://t.co/kC3Eu5JbHr

TLDR: in our prior iteration, we allowed holders to mint their rewards because we believed it embodied digital ownership (and thus the spirit of crypto). in retrospect, the experiment was not a net benefit for our holders; the portability of rewards removed the incentive/lock-in for users to hold after they minted their crates.

because of this, we decided to redesign our battle pass and model it after other projects that have successfully implemented something similar.

as a reminder, all season 1 rewards (crates) will still be honored.

why now?
over the next few weeks, we’re going to start rolling out crypto-based features and rewards on @joinstacked (and more 🤠)!

before doing so, we wanted to ensure our community’s interests were heard and accounted for. because of this, it was imperative that we re-enable the battle pass before announcing anything else.

how do I earn points?
stake your avatars to earn points on a daily basis. each avatar’s point emission is determined by its type.

original types
⟡ human - 10/day
⟡ toxic - 20/day
⟡ mech - 20/day
⟡ eternal - 50/day
⟡ demon - 50/day

community types
our community has also designated the following traits valuable, thus warranting the following point emissions:

⟡ balaclava - 40/day
⟡ dark mech - 60/day

avatars can receive bonus yield in the following ways:

daily streaks
⟡ 15 days - 25% boost
⟡ 30 days - 50% boost
⟡ 45 days - 75% boost
⟡ 60 days - 100% boost

reminder: selling or listing your avatar will immediately reset its streak.

team bonus
⟡ 3 avatars - 15% boost
⟡ 5 avatars - 50% boost
⟡ 10 avatars - 75% boost
⟡ 25+ avatars - 150% boost

other considerations
we spoke extensively with several members of our community about how comprehensive we should make reward emissions.

⟡ should point emissions vary based on rarity?
⟡ should every trait have a different emission rate?
⟡ should we take season 1 rankings into account?
⟡ should we reward people who held through the fud?

ultimately, we decided to keep the structure simple because the reality is that we’ve hit rock bottom, and our community just isn’t that big anymore; fewer people will be fighting over our points, thus automatically yielding a greater piece of the pie.

the greatest advantage is staking early.

if you’re a prospective holder, this is a great time to consider joining our community as well. we’re rebuilding our community’s culture from the ground up, and you have the opportunity to write the next chapter of our project’s story with us.
