@AmyfStuart I really hate the intense focus on betting. So does G!! It’s gross and I don’t like having it rammed down my throat with all the ads and additions to broadcasts.
@balkissoon@_allyallysonson@SaveWildBees@krushowy@calphonso My son is in grade 7 French immersion and his teacher has been off more than at school since Christmas. They’ve barely had any French and many many days of lunchroom supervisors as supplies. I’m not actually sure what they’ve been taught at this point and the school won’t respond
@IDontBlog I did have to play around with finding the right dose, and have also noticed some side effects that I need pay attention to, so that all took time. I’m glad you’re on the right path! It’s frustrating to think that we didn’t know earlier.
@IDontBlog You’re welcome! I just remember feeling really grateful for an explanation, but also confused and worried. I *think* the meds help? It isn’t the cure all & some days my brain just doesn’t want to play nice. Meds have helped me figure out some of the other tools that also help.
@AmyfStuart I remember Kelly hrudey commenting on this kind of thing from him last season worried about how hard he seems to be on himself at times. And ya, last night I wondered why he seemed to be allllllll alone there.
This thread pretty sums up my experience growing up in central Etobicoke (Toronto) with a born and bred Finnish father and black Canadian mother. No matter who I identified with more at any given moment, I knew I never quite fit and was told that. Identity is complicated.
Identity is complicated. A THREAD.
I was born to Cuban immigrants in Portland, Oregon. Growing up in a very white city I was surrounded by this pocket of wonderful Cubans and Cuban-Americans. What I saw where white Cubans and black Cubans. I was told that I was a white Cuban.
Them: Where are you from?
Me: Canada.
Them: No, where are you really from?
Me: Canada, dude.
I understand the curiosity but by denying me my identity, you place me outside of "you" & who "you" think should be from Canada.
I. Am. Canadian.
I love hockey & love that my son is surrounded by some great humans & teammates as he plays. ALL KIDS SHOULD EXPERIENCE THAT. It’s not lost on me that it’s only because of a few shifts in our genetics that my son & I aren’t targets too. I’m not ok w/having this as my privilege.
When does it stop? Believe it or not these stories are sent to me everyday. This is happening everyday in our game. EVERYDAY! Leave your comments and support for mark below. Hang in there mark! We got you.
@JenGPhotog So much of it feels like an excuse to behave like an a$$. Going into every situation looking for a fight. I don’t get it, and I also am baffled by their inability to listen to reason/logic and see how terrible their behaviour is.
