@ColinMurray@bbc5live@astro_timpeake I was lucky to be the BSL interpreter for Tim at events in Liverpool and Manchester. Great insights into becoming an astronaut, and life in space; from the existential to the lavatorial . Question : does Tim remember the sign for ‘poop’ that I had to use during his show? Ha Ha .
@MarianKeyes Fillim? “Name Me Lawland” .. doc film about a Deaf boy from Iraq and his family travelling to UK to get access to a School for the Deaf (Derby) .. shows the prejudice Deaf face, and the liberation that sign language can bring. Emotional and ultimately uplifting..
@kathygriffin Hi Kathy .. hope your health is improving.. avid follower of your D List stuff .. and anything else I could trawl off YouTube .. felt utterly gutted to see what happened to you re Trump .. I checked out Threads .. too much info asked to join.. so can’t do it. X
@bbc5live Manchester Museum !! FAB .. reopened last month .. queues wrapped around the University buildings every day, gasping to get a look at the numerous Egyptian Mummies .. Leo in Manc
@DeafHistorian Thanks for opening the debate on dealing with expletives. The roots of community interpreting (in the UK) were in the religious centres. Can’t imagine many of those ‘helpers’ including expletives in a rendition. My catholic school told me swearing was a sin!
@RealMancsy Agreed .. lots of people just throw food/ drink/ cigs onto the floor (and of course Saturday night brings worse..) .. I think of the environment in town as the ‘face’ of Manchester .. and it’s shameful how little regard people have for keeping it clean.
@AndyBurnhamGM .. so .. can Manchester offer to host Eurovision 2023, if Ukraine not able? .. we won the industry vote, came second, and AJ teed us up as a great place. Bring the fun fest up North .. who’s ‘in’?
