Some headlines from today’s Sunday NFL Countdown:

[Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter]

One of the biggest preseason Week 1 storylines was the stellar play of rookie quarterbacks Drew Allar, Carson Beck, Ty Simpson, Fernando Mendoza, Haynes King, Cade Klubnik, Jalon Daniels and Garrett Nussmeier.

@cbarker934 @49ersSportsTalk I was thinking mostert to.

[Mark-Ballin @BalisteriMark]

@BeauRehner It’s because I had Yanez by decision at +430. My Apologies.

#Texans GM Nick Caserio on Joe Mixon: 'Very unique situation. Joe worked very hard to play football, never manifested itself. Opp to see in offseason relative to next year. Kind of a freak thing. It didn't work out' @KPRC2

@Tadj315 Who could have called this NFC conference game? 🧐

[Mark-Ballin @BalisteriMark]

Don’t sleep on Seattle. They’ve been m my NFC Super Bowl pick. Between them and Rams best teams in NFL right now.

[Mark-Ballin @BalisteriMark]

@slimvnsn @AdamSchefter Needed to be done. He had terrible game management skills. Also when you have Allen, if you aren’t a perennial contender. Then you are seriously screwing up.

[Mark-Ballin @BalisteriMark]

@FezzikSports No joke right when BUF ran it in without running a play first. I said McDermott needs to be fired. He has no idea what he’s doing. Especially with him having already made a similar mistake in playoffs before. And versing a kicker who can hit 70 yards. His decision was terrible.

[Mark-Ballin @BalisteriMark]

@BeauRehner Had this exact thought like a month ago haha.

[Mark-Ballin @BalisteriMark]

@BeauRehner I had a big bet on Bautista by decision. Was very happy with that bet. His last fight in Bellator he barely beat a can, so I was so confused when he was a decent favorite against Bautista.

[Mark-Ballin @BalisteriMark]

@BeauRehner He definitely needs a good running game. He is the epitome of a being found out on his second year and continuing on his sophomore slump.

[Mark-Ballin @BalisteriMark]

@_MLFootball @reflog18 @MileHighReport @Xommanders @LicensePlateGuy @StephieSmallls @Ballou1010xl @JoshReynolds24 @JalenCarterDPOY @thewaynebreezie @LawsNation Not a bad list. I would include Osweiler though. When the Texans gave him that massive contract.

[Mark-Ballin @BalisteriMark]

@BeauRehner Right? Like what was that?

[Mark-Ballin @BalisteriMark]

@BeauRehner Nathan Peterman. I’ve always said he is the worst NFL QB/player I’ve ever seen.
