We had a fun, hands on Maths lesson today as the Junior Infants baked brown bread. Lots of great work on number recognition and measuring, great teamwork and everyone enjoyed tucking into the delicious bread. 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳

Junior Infants loved observing our caterpillars transform into beautiful butterflies. We released them into our school garden where they have been happily flying around amongst the flowers 🦋🦋

Junior Infants have been learning all about the Garda Station so we were so excited when Sam’s Dad Garda Jason and his friend Garda Francis came to visit to tell us all about the important work they do 🚨🚔

2nd and 3rd Class had great fun celebrating Bike Week! And one lucky winner from each class won a brand new bike helmet!

Great excitement in Junior Infants today thanks to a visit from the firefighters in Gort Fire Station. We’ve been learning about the Fire Station in Aistear and everyone loved having the chance to question some real life firefighters about their jobs 🧯🚒🔥

Junior Infants have loved learning all about the EU through the fantastic Big Friendly Guide to the European Union. We enjoyed making smoothies to show how each of the countries bring something special to the EU, making us stronger together #BFGtoEU @HubEuropCitizen 🇪🇺🇪🇺🇮🇪🇮🇪

Junior Infants took advantage of the sunshine today with some outdoor lessons. First we went on a minibeast hunt in the garden for SESE 🕷️🐝🐌🪰🪱 and later, we enjoyed a Jackson Pollock inspired Art lesson 🎨🖌️

Today the Junior Infants took our Literacy lesson outside and had lots of fun writing CVC words with chalk ✍️✏️🔤

Our theme in Junior Infants this month is Space. The class have been having lots of fun, learning about Space and acting out their own adventures in our Space Station Role Play. 🧑‍🚀🚀🔭🛰️🪐

The Junior Infants were thrilled with our new arrivals today. Meet our caterpillars: Diamond, Rosie, Mo Salah, Cotton Candy and Messi. We’ll be learning all about the life cycle of a butterfly and can’t wait to see what happens 🐛🦋

Tomorrow, 8th March, Ballinderreen N.S will participate in a sponsored Fun Run to raise funds for @unicefireland who are doing vital work for children all around the world and especially in Gaza. All donations welcome, big or small 🙏🏻
