Excited to share my first article with @Channel9's Wide World of Sports, exploring what could be an impactful yet contentious rule change in Australian Rules Football (AFL) 24 years in the making.

@zanofc@NitroCircus@abcsport I probably should have mentioned that exciting things were also happening next door (indoors) whilst Nitro was on. @nrlwheelchair was hosting nationals along with Wheelchair rugby league Australia vs England.
@HypertheticRL @MikeMeehallWood@wallyscr The first matter is that we would have to mark 30 m in from the touchline, which isn’t impossible but very unlikely to change. That said, the kicking team gets the ball back 20 m in from touch now. The field is 68 m wide so there’s only 28 m between the two 20 m lines from touch.
@MikeMeehallWood@wallyscr Can’t believe you remember! With the current rules, there is still a very big problem with the 20/40 because there is noticeably more risk being that much further back in yardage with no additional reward compared with the 40/20. More protection and/or incentive is required.
