71% of seabirds and 30% of turtles have been found with plastics in their stomachs. When they eat plastic, the mortality rate is 50%. We need to understand that straws go into the ocean in so many different ways, and have almost become normal for marine life to eat. #stopsucking

We use 500 million plastic straws A DAY, even with recycling, a majority of the plastic still ends up in landfills, and can end up in the sea. When plastic breaks down into smaller pieces it can be ingested by animals, potentially harming or killing them. #stopsucking #savethesea
