As a first responder, I don’t understand why y’all didn’t have lifeguards and medical personnel on the water in boats, jet skis, and on paddle boards. Especially since the swimming part of the workout was after a 3.5 mile run. It should be obvious that athletes are going to be swimming while exhausted which can cause many issues. you should’ve had medical personnel staged all throughout the water course. Lazar Dukic’s death was 100% preventable. Had a lifeguard been near him, they could’ve saved him from drowning. Complete negligence on your part. You prepare for the worst case scenario. Better to have a ton of lifeguards on the water and not need a single one, then to have what happened today. 😭💔
