In the last 24 hours, wind met 76% of Irish electricity demand. The high was 91%. Total generation met 121% of demand and averaged a 63%/37% split between wind and all other sources. Wind peaked at 70%.

Efforts are under way to expand an ancient Irish woodland for the first time in over 200 years. Volunteers have been spending autumn weekends gathering nuts and seeds as part of plans to quadruple the size of Ardan Wood in Co Westmeath.
