🚨 Dani Alves on facing Cristiano Ronaldo in Madrid:
🗣️ “No one in Barcelona ever liked him, both the club, players management. It wasn’t because of Messi or the rivalry, it was because of the damage he could do in just one moment.”
🗣️ “The worst feeling back then was losing the ball and seeing Real Madrid break with Cristiano involved. Once he had space, you knew you were in trouble. He was too direct, too powerful and too ruthless. You could defend perfectly for eighty minutes and he’d still find a way to punish you.”
🗣️ “It’s difficult to admit but there were moments when you looked at him and thought, ‘Imagine having that kind of beast on your side.’ Every team wants a striker with that mentality, that aggression and that hunger to decide games.”
🗣️ “Rivalries make you dislike players, but they also make you respect them. Cristiano was one of those players you hated facing, because you knew one mistake was enough for him to change the entire game.”
TRUE LIFE STORY
The former CP of police for Lagos, Mohammed Abubakar while he was CP was accidentally arrested by Police while driving about alone on the morning.
I kid you not.
The DPO had to abscond when the constables brought him to the station to identify himself and write statement.
1. Don't ever sell on credit NOT even once. If you do, you will lose that customer the day you say no to their request for credit.
2. Avoid giving discount to encourage sales. To some customers, it suggests that your products are cheap. To some customers, it suggests you are desperate to sell. To some customers, they can always ask for more. To some customers, if you can offer a discount, you can still sell at a lower price. To dome customers, since you offered discount the last time, you can offer another discount every time.
3. Never explain how you arrived at your price. If a customer says your Price is high. They are not interested in the value you are bringing to the table. A prospective customer that cannot afford your product will most likely not admit they don't have money.
4. Find the right place/environment to sell. If you sell on the roadside, be ready to haggle price. If you sell in a supermarket, shoppers just add your product to their carts. No room for haggling.
5. Never share the recipe for your success. Today, Coca-Cola tastes different from other Cola drinks.
6. Don't be eager to sell. There will always be a buyer for your products. Even if others are selling at a lower price or free, you will always customers who don't want to queue to get serviced. Why did people abandon ATMs and use POS more often?
7. Don't try to be convincing whenever are trying to sell. Prospective customers will misinterpret this act as an act of desperation. Every explanation pushes them further away. Keep the line open always. Tell them that if they buy from somewhere else and they are not satisfied; they can always come back to you.
8. Great deals don't happen in formal places like your office. Attend social events, most of these deals happen based on share interests like supporting the same football team or sharing same hobbies.
I learnt all these from my very good boss. God bless and keep that man for his family.
