Periodic reminder that if I block you, it's not because you've won anything. It's not because you're so smart & right and I'm so stupid & wrong that I couldn't respond.
It's because you are absolutely, completely, and without any doubt not deserving of my time and attention.
Damn, with the straight up love letter of See How They Run and the "exotic locale" Hercule Poirot /deconstruction of The Glass Onion, Agatha Christie had a good year.
@shesbonky@CarlosAlett religion on other people in that way, have no idea their kid is saying these things, and once they know will talk to her about it.
@shesbonky@CarlosAlett this way. In which case, as much as it might suck, you've learned important information about these people that will help you decide whether they're people you want your family interacting with. Best case scenario, they're the kind of Christians that don't want to push their
@jonvankin@KurtBusiek Yeah, I don't think there's any "perfect" way to do it that's going to make people who would struggle to get it suddenly get it, but median is still a better and more realistic way to frame things. A lot of people seem to not understand what an "average" is, at least when it
@scottEmovienerd Really, there are a lot of people who seem to think that if you have a "creative" job in any entertainment field then you must be rich. It's such a massive misunderstanding of how these fields work. The Tom Cruises of the world are like, the .1%.
@scottEmovienerd Something I learned from seeing people come at comic book writers is that a lot of people have this perception that if someone's name is known to a lot of people, if they're in a position to have "fans" in any way, then they must automatically be rich as hell.
@URLcrz The whole things just seems really sad to me. I mean, Quinton is 100% the victim here and didn't deserve anything this woman threw at him. But she seems pretty troubled, and I hope she's able to get some help so that she can be happy and healthy.
@CaptVispellio@PretentiousChik@legndofphoenix at all, or you're being really vague about something really serious, which just seems really irresponsible. Like, even IF there is something really serious, it's kind of just like... either say what it is or choose to keep it private. Don't let it exist in some weird in between.
I'll never not be fascinated not just by the way people project their own issues onto their opinions/interpretations of media, but also the way they'll say something that shows so clearly that's what they're doing and still not realize they're doing it
I'm glad FRIDA said something about not trusting Prism, because it does kind of feel like she basically said "I think you guys are wrong about all of this and what you're doing" and everyone just kind of brushed over it and assumed she was 100% with them #criticalrolespoilers
And it's not just internalized bigotry that gets thrown around, because when pushed to defend that internalized bigotry, it's not long before they start saying stuff that's at the very least tinged with bigotry toward other groups.
If you ever doubt that a person from a marginalized group can't hold bigotry for that group, just spend some time in a subreddit dedicated to a marginalized group and you'll see so much internalized bigotry getting thrown around.
