10/10s - 2026 update (alphabetized)

I only sparingly give 10s so as not to devalue its impact.

For me, 10/10 doesn’t necessarily mean flawless (though I believe some of these are), but rather a game that is close to perfect, or hits my threshold for peak enjoyment.

@wizrad I should check out Spiderman 2, I did enjoy 1, just good though, nothing too special.

It’s hard to justify jumping into a 15-20 hr action game when I mostly know what to expect, and when there’s so much to play. Big time sink.

I started Pipistrello this week tho and it’s great.

@wizrad Insomniac isn’t all that, they peaked long ago with Spyro 2 and 3, and Ratchet 2 and 3 IMO. Now they’ve seemingly been relegated to the Sony/Marvel AAA action game pipeline. It’s too bad.

@wizrad Completely agree on Wolverine and GoW. Some of these 3rd person action games are starting to get stale and blend together. I liked GoW18 quite a bit, couldn’t get into Ragnarok.

The Rayman Legends remake is beyond bizarre. It looks high quality, but like… why does that exist?

Mina the Hollower 100% done

I adore how unrelenting it is in its design. Wish I could wipe my memory and start it again. That’s how much I enjoyed it.

There are a few minor annoyances but nothing major. It joins my pantheon of great games.

@ThunderBrush @Ruleof2Review I’d imagine Prime 4 is probably worse on repeat playthroughs since it’s on rails to an extreme degree. And the thought of doing the filler content again hurts that much harder

@fieldinghope There is absolutely nothing about MHTRTC and Geogaddi that’s “surface level”. Geogaddi has some of the most intricately and densely arranged beats this millennium in electronic music

@Chrambas8 @SB2749 Well no, the voxels make much of the terrain feel grid based and angular, it’s even more obvious when it’s smashed.

It’s a fair trade off to get the gameplay mechanic to work but it’s clearly noticeable compared to the environments in Astro Bot, Mario Odyssey, Galaxy, etc
