@SamuelRines Indeed, subjectivity always makes officiating hard but the level and quantity of terrible officiating this year is on a new scale.
Games are way too often being determined by penalties and that's a shame.
@AndrewLamers@NFLDraftDome The way Young feel is how his whole body got on the QB. Nothing a defender can do about that.
Just give QBs a flag now in the pocket and once that's pulled, it's a sack.
The game has become a joke. Trying to "soften" football is leading to a terrible game now.
@onespeed15@Jus7en@tracegirouard48 Or just go straight for the knees now. Tons of ACL injuries for QBs in that world but who cares as long as the hit doesnt look "too big", the NFL will feel good about itself by lowering the physicality of the game.
@KC_Tiger_Jon@Fitz_FF The game is being ruined by these horrific roughing the passer calls.
Maybe defenders should go straight for the quarterbacks knees so they can't "land" on the QB then.
It's just some ACL injuries instead of clean shoulder to chest tackles...smh
@JacobShap Everyone ages, there's nothing wrong with that.
Not acknowledging that fact and clinging to power in the face of obvious decline is self-interest over country in what is supposed to be "public service."
Outside of freak incidents, nobody should be dying in public office.
@MonetaryWonk Terrible policy period. Doesn't even matter the context. Vote buying is ridiculous, banana republic level esque.
What's to stop the next candidate from going $10K, $50K, $100K?
Pure desperation from a flailing president that chose grift and pride rather than good governance.
Maybe if Donald 2.0 had attempted good governance instead of grift, war and coverups he wouldn't have to bribe Americans to vote for Republicans, no?
Nah, just blow-up the dollar's purchasing power even more to keep the grift alive.
#Desperation
@MonetaryWonk The US lambasted Europe for not spending enough on defense for years and Europe did nothing, basically calling the US' bluff.
The war in Ukraine and the Donald woke them from their slumber, good.
Now, let's GTFO of Iran and rebuild our supplies dammit!
@PudgyPindos@JackFarley96 AI mania is so obviously a bubble but that doesn't mean it's wise to short.
The robotic flows of retirement assets and mindless momentum following is a strong force.
Rather, just avoid the headline AI trade and get value elsewhere
@Nicolas_Colin Two thoughts:
1) any economist worth their salt can explain why subsidizing the long-end with paper while $40+ trillion in debt is a bad idea
2) numerous sources called it as AI from the beginning, both from their own take as well as AI detection, a good sign for humanity!

@PhilWMagness@LukeGromen@timstarr2001@ADavis4me@Livelongandpr18@mheinz16@LynAldenContact It's a complex problem that needs a thoughtful approach. Blanket tariffs, ie liberation day, are not it but that's not to say tariffs are not a part of the mix.
Industrial policy, private sector coordination, tariffs, employment incentives, etc... need to be on the table.
@RonMcHam1955@MonetaryWonk Income inequality is a lot easier to solve than the bigger problem:
Wealth inequality is largely a structural issue due to the explosion in asset prices as the dollar/debt/deficit become further unhinged.
Wealth is not liquidity tho, amplifying the complexity of the problem.
@michaelxpettis US deficits are also fueling wealth inequality that is showing up in asset prices, which makes the US suceptible to a mass selloff is say, oh I don't know, Japan, sells billions in US assets to defend a collapsimg Yen.
@michaelxpettis US politicians and voters call for reduced spending, lowering the deficit.
US could also decline to lower the amount of dollars in circulation.
US debt and deficits DO matter. What country wants to spend more on interest we expense than defense?
