SHIPS OPEN TO VISITORS ON MON 25 MAY 2026
All prospective one-day sailors should pay close attention to the following important details:
a. Date: Monday, 25 May 2026
b. Reporting Time: Arrive early at your designated location for screening and boarding procedures. Note that timing may vary depending on weather conditions.
c. Designated Sailing Points:
(1) Lagos – NNS BEECROFT Jetty Apapa
(2) Calabar – NNS VICTORY Jetty Calabar
(3) Port Harcourt – FOT Jetty, Onne
(4) Warri – NPA new port Jetty, Warri
Participants must report only at their assigned location.
IMPORTANT REQUIREMENTS
3. Participants are expected to:
a. Bring a valid ID showing your registered name.
b. Dress comfortably in casual clothes and flat shoes.
c. Follow all safety and security instructions carefully.
d. Avoid bringing any prohibited items; breaches will be treated seriously.
e. Maintain good conduct and heed crew instructions.
f. Arrive on time to ensure you don’t miss boarding.
SAFETY GUIDELINES
4. For a safe experience, participants should:
a. Follow all directives from naval personnel.
b. Stay within designated areas onboard.
c. Always wear your life jacket, and remain calm during the sail. Feeling seasick? Head inside to rest.
d. Report discomfort or emergencies immediately. Look out for the person next to you. Buddy up!
e. Use safety equipment as instructed.
PROHIBITED ITEMS
5. Do not bring:
a. Weapons or sharp objects
b. Illegal substances
c. Alcoholic drinks
d. Explosives or flammable items
e. Anything that could pose a security risk
WHAT PARTICIPANTS WILL EXPERIENCE
6. Selected participants may have the opportunity to:
a. Tour Nigerian Navy facilities
b. Observe routine shipboard activities
c. Interact with naval personnel
d. Learn about maritime security
e. Enjoy a controlled sailing experience on board naval ships
GENERAL ADVISORY
7. The Nigerian Navy reserves the right to:
a. Conduct security checks on all participants
b. Deny boarding to those who don’t follow instructions
c. Adjust schedules or activities where necessary for safety or operational needs
