@LM18893267501 @McFaul China had three major oil suppliers, Russia, Iran and Venezuela. Venezuela is practically being run by the United States, Russia is at war and Ukraine is hitting it oil refineries steadily, which leaves us with Iran, which is practically under siege

@LM18893267501 @McFaul Regardless of China revolutionary shift to renewable energy, they still need a huge amount of oil supply to charge their economy because China has over 1 billion people and the second largest economy, you will require more than just renewable energy to sustain that economy

@LM18893267501 @McFaul China was smart to do this because it learnt from Japan mistakes in WW2. In WW2 Japan was cut off of its oil supplies through a US embargo thus leading to the surprise attack on pearl harbor. If China stayed Idle it would lose the majority of it’s steady oil supplies
