I had just lost $50,000 to a scam investment and spent all my savings on legal fees pursuing the matter with EFCC.
Things were hard. Very, very hard. I was depressed and lived in my office for months. I would listen to hymns (and Hillsong), wake up before dawn to freshen up, work Mon to Thurs, then head to Benin (EFCC office) after work on Thurs.
I’m not one to talk about my wins and problems because most of my problems (and wins) are "big men" problems. So this was just between me, my lawyer, and a few friends who were co-scammed. They let theirs go, I wouldn’t. If I earned it, I will fight for it.
One evening, a friend, O, called me, and he sensed that something was off. Before I could say much, he said, "guy, make I send you small money make you go chop first first." Few minutes later, ₦500K received. That money did more than he knew. I stocked the house, filled my tank, renewed my home internet...and rogered the lawyer something.
The same friend gave me a car to use for 6 months, with some bundles of mint notes in the safe. He didn't say it. I saw it and didn't it touch it. I also didn't mention it. We only talked about it when I returned the car with the cash intact (...don't abuse gestures).
You can say he did it because he had, but kindness is often not a function of having.
Only a few friends will support you with what you are building. Significantly fewer are those who will stand by you in hard times.
I have a lot of friendship stories in both directions. But I only share those where I was on the receiving end, in gratitude. Thanks bro. .. guy , you're reading this.. sha don't tear up oo😀😀
Friendship is a gift. A gift I will die giving, and one I've received many times over.
I still have pictures and memories with all my exes. I don't block anybody. I just go silent and never talk to them again. I avoid every situation that could make me talk to them. I don't expect them to reach out to me every now and then, but if they do, we just talk and move on.
This might not work for everyone, but one of the most unpopular ways to disconnect from someone isn’t by blocking them.
It’s by normalizing their presence.
Keep them around, but don’t interact much.
Maybe view their Instagram story once in a while. Maybe reply to a WhatsApp status occasionally. Maybe exchange a random message every now and then.
You’re slowly reprogramming your emotions to see them differently.
Until one day everything dawns on you and you’re totally disgusted by their presence.
Works like magic. 😂
Imagine your phone buzzing out of control in a corporate strategy meeting because @PoojaMedia mentioned you.
Thank you for accepting to come around & choosing us. It was an honor. Really enjoyed the conversations and hangouts, plus the kiddos are going to miss you. Safe trip home
@Natureboy91@AramideOyekunle You too sabi. This is what I simply do every time and it works for me. I wonder why people don't know it. I came to understand this as a dedicated user of WPS over the years. There are certain knowledge you can grab without knowing that it's really a big deal for other people.
@Hisflyness007@AngelaUzochukw1@Fedrickkkkkk Which id did you use? Was it clear enough when captured? If it wasn't clear, there's an app on Playstore you can use to get the digital copy of your national id card.
@hunchohumor With stocks, what's the real driving force? Is it the capital gains or dividends? I really want to understand what you mean by building brick by brick? Or are you saving your money there and expecting dividends to reinvest until it turns into life changing money? Please tell me
@alabi_yelloww@maziNdu4Real Last week, I saw a screenshot of dividend payout alert of about 220k+ from DangCem posted by one X user. The dividend amount suggests that he invested about 5m+ to achieve that. Do you mean that the dividend payout alert I saw was just for this year? For investment of 5m+?
